Container background color question

Hi All, I downloaded and installed oen of these custom UI's, namely BitterBlack_SA which is very nice. I wanted to know if anyone knows how to change the container background color/texture so that items are more visible. This is the main reason I tried out hte custom UI, It was way too difficult for me to see many items (especially darker colored ones) in the default UI.

I tried doing some file diff's to see if I could spot what BLAU might have done to change the container or GridView background but couldn't. I did notice that if a container is empty it seems to have the same kind of background that the default container does, very dark and trasnparent. This makes me think that the gridView mentioned in the ContainerWindow.xml isn't actually created until there's something in the container. I looked for and couldn't seem to find any sort of xml or lua for the gridView itself. So I'm guessing I'm on the wrong track.

If any of you understand or know how the container window / gridView determines it's background color/texture and how to change it it would be awseome to read about it.
Thanks in advance,
John (Shawnee6d)

There is a graphical square within the texture files that the containerwindow.xml file references. Change that texture and you'll change how it looks ingame.

Thanks a million. So for the record, if you take a look at the Textures directory and use a dds view (I quickly nabbed nvidia's windows viewer, but htere must be much better ones freely available) look at the images in 00000020_Hud.dds and sure enough there is a tile for contaienr background.

Truthfully, I would have still been having difficulty unless I were comparing the default version of the file to BitterBlack_SA or something else that had changed the tile so that it was distinctive. Cool.

Thanks again, I'd never have figured it out on my own, I think.Ya'll have a great evening,

The textures you want are in the fiule you mention underneath the icons that are on your menu bar with your backpack and war/peace symbol. It's the 2x2 block.

One set is for hotbars, the other for containers 1 for default, the other for highlighted.
