Connor's sampire template question when running w/ SS

For situations where a sampire runs with spirit speak instead of anatomy or resist magic, does it make sense to summon a shadow wisp for the mana regen?

I normally wouldn't as they die pretty fast, so it's pretty much just a waste of mana.

plus the shadow wisp mana regen is based on the characters karma...as chiv users, most sampires have high karma, making the wisp bonus next to nothing.
