This past Saturday the Miss Siege Pageant was held at the Moonglow Lyceum. The Master of Ceremonies for the event was Hoffs, and the current Miss Siege, Sara Dale, was also in attendance.

The imminently qualified impartial judges were Kahlan, the Manager of UOforums and Associate Editor of UOguilds; Rupert Avery, of UOForums, Ultima Auctions, Ultima Gallery, and UOguilds fame; and . . . ; Ug Rankbreath, an orphaned orc who was taken in and raised by Tazar, Senior Moderator at Stratics:

The fabulous contestants were:

An amazing pool of gifts were graciously donated by the CEO of the Malnurished Corporation, Mr. Famine. It was announced that all contestants would receive a prize.

As the event progressed, the crowd began to grow, and even our EM, Aurora, stopped by to watch!

After the evening wear competition, the talent competition began! Tanager demonstrated special flower arranging techniques.

Ariana displayed her taming talents and also recited a poem.

Lady Raja demonstrated how she is so recognizable – on all shards.

Branwyn of Errol had some special brew for the judges which she had made herself! (It was labeled Miss Siege 2012…. hmmm, trying to bribe the judges?) Leawyn performed tricks for the judges.

And finally, Feja demonstrated how she commands mortals to follow her commands and serve her.

Next was the combat wear competition, followed by questions from the judges.

And Lady Raja had a special form of ‘combat wear’:

Then began the scientific process of choosing who would be the next Miss Siege. . . .

And the decision was, in reverse order…..
Third Place:

Second Place:

And finally, First Place:

CONGRATULATIONS to the NEW Miss Siege!

Alas...word on the street is that the contest was rigged

It now appears that the orc judge was revealed to be in fact Tjalle's twin !!

Thanks for the write-up, Adrianas.
I must say that the paperdolls looks great in the EC.

Thanks very much for the report, Adrianas.

*wonders why her fancy shirt doesn't show up in EC*

That is what I was thinking Freja! EC Paperdolls look silly... :(

Special form of combat wear... Now I know it is not what I wear when I "do" hunt or "combat" but in fact an outfit just for show...

Oh well...

Thanks! :mylittlepony:

Agree, the evening wear look ok on Freja but the combat wear really look bad, I wish I could choose what paperdoll other chars should see. Sad to see, what they did to my floppy hat and the gorget. And the boots should cover the bone legs.

Eh eh - I wondered what the reaction might be to the EC images. Yes, they still need to improve the artwork. But once you get used to it, it's just as tough to go the other way. Occasionally I will turn on Classic Client view in EC, just to see how an outfit I have looks in CC. So you do have that option in EC - of having your paperdoll still be like the CC. What I do not know (and will need to experiment with) is whether that also changes the paperdolls of others that you open - will they also be seen in CC? I will try that and if it works, I might supply images both ways, if I can, for future events.

I cannot function anymore in CC. You might note the larger crowd shot at the top, and the shot of the orc judge "judging" further down - being able to zoom in and out and see more area or more detail is one of those functions that I cannot live without anymore - I've played EC for too long. (I was actually one of the 'real' beta testers for it back when they were first developing it. Believe me, it came out much better than what they originally planned! They just need to 'finish' it.)

The event had a good turn out, and kudos go to Hoffs and the judges for their work on it!

Did not mean to blame you from showing it in EC :)
I had tryed EC several times but always goes back to CC.
Anyway, congrats to the winners and thanks for a great report of the event. It was fun to be a part of the event.
Thanks to Hoff, Famine and the judges.

Oh, no, I did not even take it that way, Freja! I think that the majority of players still use the Classic Client. But if I can figure out a way to snap shots in both CC and EC, I will do so - just so people can see the difference!

How about downloading both clients up? Take your screen shot. Log out, log and back in on other client take another set. A lil troublesome maybe but do able in cases like this.;)

That is an option - or 'double client' with one character in CC and one in EC. (One of the advantages of having 5 characters on Siege....) I could do that, too, I think. But I seem to recall that swapping the paperdoll image back and forth in EC is pretty painless. I'll give it a try tonight.

Congratulations to Lady Leawyn II !

Thank you Hoffs for organizing a fun event to attend.

I mostly prefer the way EC paperdolls look. Some things I really love the look of in CC.
I particularly liked the CC look of Ariana's bone armor and Leawyns combat wear
(wish I had taken screenshots of those).

Ahah! *Most* excellent! Now if we could get the devs to focus on making some changes so that the EC always looks good! (Once all the dust has settled and all shards are stable again, that is!)

I sure wish, the EC Paperdolls armor and clothes did look a little more like CC. The floppy hat, the quivers. The bone arms, hands and legs may look ok but I like to be able to cover the bone legs with my boots. Also the female armor look better in CC and the gorget too. The paperdoll it self is somewhat ok except this skinny arms, how would I be able to shot with my bow with this arms.

I much prefer the old paperdoll.
