Ah, I see! And classic is very nice, I didn't notice that. Still a few days left for this contest, and so many great designs already!

I went and got some carpet from TerMur and put down a few pieces over the crates to help give the idea that this is a stage. There a steward outside pretending to be a stable master and a mail box out by the corner. Threw a few arties on the displays tables on the 2nd floor to also give the general idea this is where he would put those items, all this is just general idea, as I not as skill with building houses from just an 18x18 lot.

Actually you can make a stage with height using the stone craftables but you can't have a floor above it.

ground floor not in the pictures, display area and a stables, I like her design. If I was to ever build a house again I think I ask her to do it for me ;)

You can have a floor above, but the square block pieces cannot be walked on and so a goza has to be at juuuust the right level, with step pieces turned backward to make the edges.

I like yours

Thank you both for your kind words, but I fear the design might be a bit tight inside. I was trying to make it look like the castle and council chambers. But it does fit 81 seats, without a TON of stam blocking; one push-thru per row. The isles are narrow, tho, only 1 tile wide. But we probably do not need 81 seats lol, so that can always be made less crowded.

I can't wait for the first event in the new EM house, whoever wins! There are a lot of fantastic architects on Siege, and I bet most of them probably did not share their secrets here hehe

Actually they can be walked on...try it! :)

I meant if there is a floor above. The blocks are a tiny bit too high, unfortunately, to let us walk on them without hitting our heads on the ceiling. But the steps pieces are just low enough to show a character stepping up a bit for a stage, and then you can use gozas to walk on. Carpet didn't work quite right, at least not in EC.

My effort, wasn't sure if I would have time as am still travelling, but found a bit today so have built this in the Ice Cove next to my house. (where Hell House was).

mkd ground floor.jpg
GROUND FLOOR is pretty self explainatory. The EM has the option to block one or both ports depending on where he/she wants people to go and lock all relevant doors into those areas.
Players may park pets downstairs, leave mail, or leave messages on the noticeboard.

mkd first floor.jpg

FIRST FLOOR - Has fixed 'bar' area for EM to stand in, seats 54, although more seats could be added if required. EM can be heard from all seats. Display cases are at the end of 'hearing' area hence block people from standing that far back. Storage area for the EM if required. Teleport from the ground floor enters where marked. Door may be left open or locked at EM need.

mkd second floor.jpg

SECOND FLOOR - Contains larger EM storage area. The public space has a removable and reconfigurable stage area that may be designed as required. Removeable doors and small wall blocks can be used if required to make staget secure, instead of the above configuration. Current seating as show is for 43 but more could be added if required. EM can be heard from all seats, the display cases block the non hearing postions. Door and teleport locations to this floor as shown.

mkd roof.jpg

ROOFTOP - Accessed by a straight run up the stairs. Blocks placed where EM may use to display 'drops' etc.

GENERAL: I have done minimal deco as once people fill it up there is little need for more. I think a few carpets may 'warm' it up but didn't have time :p. Colored stone is also much nicer, but I only had plain granite in any large quantity. I am happy to donate everything as seen on the above pictures, deco, stoneworks etc. I am also happy to donate the above even if this design is not selected. I have additonal blocks and doors to reconfigure the stage if required.

If you want to inspect I have placed a port from Coco's (next to umbra hub) to the house. Located here:

Ooooh I like this one, it's very adaptable and securable. I like the idea of physically preventing people from standing too far away to be heard by the EM. My design assumes the EM will be shouting, but this is better if he should occasionally forget the ! first. Also a lot less stam blocking this way, in the event a fight should break out.

EM Kincaid's e-mailbox must be getting pretty full by now! I love that so many are participating in this.

I hope you're enjoying your trip and look forward to seeing you in game when you're home!

Almost finished my version; I miss some things to finish: in need for wall torches, hitching post, mailbox. And will be happy to discuss some things with Mr. Kincaid

If he shouts then then he can move the display stands and put more chairs, although I can't think that I have seen more than 30 people at one time in one place on this shard since I started here, so 43-52 seats should be enough :p And yeah a hitching post in pet parking would also be good, but I didn't have one either @Sargatanza so you're not the only one missing one :p

Just mention them in the e-mail with your pics. I'm sure Siege can come up with whatever deco for the winning house that our EM cannot just whip up out of thin air. Also, I wonder what kind of NPCs EM Kincaid can put down. Temporary stable master, just for events, or maybe Mesanna or some one could hire a more permanent fixture? Cuz that really would be nice. Sometimes we don't know what we're getting into until after the event starts, and then folks could decide what pet to choose without having to run to a stable. Hitching post would be pretty high maintenance imo, unless he can just magic up the hitching ropes to recharge it. If nothing else, tho, it looks like maybe he could put down one of those temporary, pretty teletiles to a stable.

My design with 81 seats is extremely optimistic lol, cuz I agree that probably half that number would be more than enough for Siege. Stonecrafted tiles that match the existing stone floor can be placed over the wooden planks to shrink the seating area, allowing the stage to be enlarged. Table an chairs can be used instead of benches for a more casual setting. Really, I think the contest is more about the structure of the building, and I hope the EM will be allowed to decorate it as he likes.

And look what I found!! @EM Kincaid

I expect he would use Stratics very sparingly, because he does have e-mail and the Siege event website and would probably want to encourage folks to use those options instead. But still, I like the @ just as a little flag for him. *waves to EM Kincaid*

I have 41 sits (42 with EM throne), tho i can easy raise this number to 57 or 67, and even to 94 without any problems....

I have received a lot of very nice designs, as well as a few very strange ones!
For example - much as I would like to have a castle-sized hot air balloon that floats across Siege, casting a shadow over all below, I do not think Mesanna (may her glorious name be spoken in hushed whispers) will go for that. The suggestion of the mobile headquarters atop a giant land shark will probably not get her vote either. Still, once this weekend is over, I will pass all entries to her, and join you in holding our collective breath and waiting.

This does mean that you still have several hours to get your entries in! Good luck, and thank you to everyone for the huge effort that you have put into your designs!

Thank you architects of Siege! I have some stunning entries here!
I will pass them along to Mesanna, and let you know what her final decision is.
The winning design will be put in place at the Great Lady's convenience, so please leave your designs in place until she has had a chance to do all that she needs to do!

Good luck to everyone! I keep checking the house, just in case Mesanna sneaks it in while EM Kincaid is doing nefarious things elsewhere. Can't wait for the first Siege event in the new place!
