Commodity Prices?

So,
Petra posted the very helpful "Where to Shop on Siege" thread. I want to get a double check on the commodity prices.

Are they reasonable? Do finished goods price above or below the component prices? For example does an iron weapon that takes ten iron ingots (@30gp each) prices out at 300gp?

I am newly returned and am trying to get my shop going.

Thanks!

This is Petra's data- Thanks Petra!

I think you may find that the cheap faction priced regs will make more of a difference than the talisman. :) But the talisman sure helps!

I have a 17% Alchemy Talisman you can have if you want to. It´s not much but perhaps better than nothing...

Welcome back. It's very rare that basic weapons go for sale, so it's difficult to answer this question. Most people only buy and sell magic weapons be they crafted via runics, imbued, or found as loot. I think you would find it very difficult to sell a plain iron weapon, like a GM Katana.

Same goes mostly for armour, however barbed leather suits do sell, I've seen them go for about 3k-5k per set, with horned and spined a little less.

Thanks for the advice. I have some runic hammers and a pile of valorite so I will switch over to fancy weapons. In the old days it was gm spear and gtg.

Thanks for the Talisman offer if you see me in game I am not above charity.

Thanks!

make the weaps with regular iron! Not sure what kind of hammer you are using but if they are lowerend you can imbue them if they are made of regular iron; should incrase the weapons value.

I think I have some research to do. I think the hammers I have are Bronze, shadow, & Copper?

So the idea is to make the weapon out of iron then enhance it using a runic and colored ingots? (sorry the smith faq is 700 pages long i will read it later)

I also need to consider arms lore. It is newly important so I will have to consider whether to soul stone tinkering or alchemy - I am leaning towards alchemy.

I have been grinding the heartwood quests, so that is keeping me occupied while I work up arms lore.

I have hijacked my own thread :mf_prop: But wow! There is a ton of new stuff in the game.

Thanks!

No the idea is to use the lowend hammers (preferably dullcopper or shadow) to burn out weaps with desirable base mods for imbuing. You burn them with iron ingots then imbue. Keepers are mods such as fast cast, ssi, maxed out hit spells, hld, hla or combinatiosn there-of. You probably will do well to take up imbuing if you are really wanting to be an arms dealer:). If not selling thsoe lowend hammers and pof seem to be good money makers for smiths atm.

They removed the 24 hour soul stone timer, so it is much easier to switch back and forth now.

If you want to make armor - do consider taking up the Imbuing skill - it is a lovely new addition to the game! Of course you may find yourself needing another soul stone. :)

Most weapons (and probably armour) sold now would probably be imbued. So it is suggested that you train in that if you want to sell your wares. Another option is you can create weapons using low end runics to sell to other imbuers.

How this works is:

Say an ideal weapon that a fencer would want to use would be a kryss with:
50% hit lightening
50% hit lower defense
50% hit lower attack
30% SSI
43% Damage Increase

What you would want to do is use a dull copper runic hammer and craft Kryss's. On all your Kryss's you'd get the 43% damage increase from the GM+Arms Lore bonus. You then hope you get a Kryss with only the 43% Damage Increase and one of the above mods at the proper intensity. So say you get a 50% hit lightening and 43% DI Kryss. You can then sell that to an imbuer, and the imbuer will imbue the 50% hit lower defense, 50% hit lower attack, and 30% SSI, making an awesome weapon.

You could also try a bronze runic hammer and prey that you get 3 of the above mods, but the chances you'll get 3 correct mods is much lower than if you just started with a dull copper runic hammer and got 1 (or luckily 2) of the correct mods.

Fyi you can't fit all that onto an imbued weap; i have found 10-20 ssi to be more desirable as blanks for krysses based on customer orders. It is such a fast weapon that alot of people, esspecially bushy types tend to opt for lower ssi.

Your idel blanks depend ont he weapon; you really would rather have fireball on an armour ignore weapon.

leafblades; 30ssi is gold.
Boks: 10 -15 ssi, or 46-50 hit lighting or harm.
HCI is also a good one esspecially if the person the weap is being made for is not in factions.

good blanks for mage weaps...
scnp with no other mods other than the di
sc, dci 13-15 with no other mods than the di
fc1, dci 13-15 with no mods than the di

ubws boks, leafblades, and others have sold well. You may even want to consider making two handers that can be imbued into good toss aways.

the following props require relic frags on a weap

HCI
DCI
Lighting
Slayer
Balance (bows)- burn oak fletchign kits; these will be nice seller as balnce specials are not a guaranteed drop and most try to enhance thier imbued bows thereby running the risk of making thier entire creation go poof.
Velocity (bows)
SSI

Any max or near max relic frag prop has potentail value to an imbuer.

Dear Lord don't I know it...
I got lucky as hell on the one I did. I do not do those kinds of bow order unless I know the person fairly well, am damn sure of thier rep, or it's for personal use.

All of my imbuing thus far has been for personal use, as I simply don't have the time to farm up the goodies required to make a business from it.

No competition here, Bubba :)

Need to make Spree something cool though. I want my Lobster Claw back.

Some of my earliest work was for guildmates who often paid the bulk of my price in relic items or specials. I also turned my early profits into buying stuff before everyone raised prices. Never really intended to do it as a business but as i imbued stuff for guildies and posted results requests rolled in.

I have enjoyed it though; learned some stuff along the way from various people I've done work for. Speedy, Kage, and Cheapy really made me push the skill to it's limits early on.

Wow,
I really appreciate the detailed information. This is great stuff, and hard to figure out for a newcomer.

I think I am going to re consider having crafted item vendors beyond tools and toys until I get a grip on all this. I will probably shift to bulk ingots, lumber, and kegs (Maybe jewelry?) until I have the skills to do weapons and armor properly.

I am feeling pretty good about coming back to Siege.

(98.2 Lumber 115 Smith 100 Mine 100 Tinker 100 Alc 50 odd mage 70 odd carpenter. 60 odd Armslore) (50 month 230 Stat Cap)

So many new crafting toys-It is tempting to reactivate my old "main" account
110 Mage 100 Eval 100 Resist 100 Inscript 100 Poison 100 Med and 100 Wrestle

Kegs won't sell too well since most alchy's just reuse old kegs.

However, get a good alchy talisman and start selling potions and you'll have a very strong business quite quickly if you can stay stocked and well promoted. Lots of people will request bulk order potions if you can fulfill them.

Curious why fireball on an AI weapon?
FB hits after the ai; Lighting acutally reduces your overall damage potentail.

You want lighting on Boks; fireball could break your bok para.
