Coming back to UO. Questions.

1. How are the european servers? There enough people to have a good gaming experience?

2. I have an account from 1998, I had good equipment until I left the game 2 years ago. Will I have too many problems to get good gear to be competitive at pvp?

3. What about the Champs? Still people doing it?

4. Do the ppl play factions or still being a dead part of the game?

5. Is 100% necesary to purchase the new expansion or can I be competitive without it?

6. Can someone explain me a bit about the new skills? I'm Spanish and I don't really understand the use of them.

7. How do I get the new craft materials for the new crafting profesion?

8. Skill leveling is easier than before? Or illegal AFK macroing still being "necesary" to level a skill without reach 80 year old?

1. How are the european servers? There enough people to have a good gaming experience?

The game has changed a lot since 1998. So it depends entirely on what you determine a good gaming experience to be. If you like doing lots of things solo, rarely ever seeing other players, and spending all of your time farming specific spawns to get specific items...then you should be fine. Otherwise, not so much.

I cannot say this for certain on the European shards, as I only play Atlantic...but that is overall trend in UO as a whole today.

The gear you had is useless now. All of it. They released something called Age of Shadows in 2003, and it changed everything in the game.

Getting PvP worthy gear is not hard, but if you want to do it in any reasonable amount of time (less than several months), it will cost you a couple of hundred real world dollars (or equivalent). Find a good gold/item seller online. There is no way you are going to be competitive in PvP with stuff you can loot yourself if you are starting from scratch.

You can also find someone that is in a guild and has billions of gold and tons of stuff they are willing to give away.

Also, if you plan to do much in PvP, you might want to look into speed hacks, stump hacks, heal scripts, etc...most everyone is running these in PvP today. The devs are claiming that they are working to remove these, so if you do run them, do so at your own risk.

They are on most shards, yes.

Factions is currently being worked on...so I guess the answer to that will lie in what the outcome is.

In order to be competitive in UO these days you must buy every expansion that comes out.

Which skills? There are lots and lots and lots and lots of them.

Buy them from scripters. That's what most people do.

Depends on the skill. Most skills rise pretty quickly except taming. If you want to be a tamer...get a good taming script, that's what most people do these days.

Morgana's answers look to be mostly on target - except for number two.

I think she may have missed that you only left two years ago - well after AOS. Gear from two years ago is probably still viable - though it may need a little fine-tuning. With imbuing, that fine-tuning is relatively easy.

About my skills question. I was asking about the new skills added with the new expansion (the gargoyle expansion). Can you explain me something about the skills added in that expansion please?

And one more thing... whats the difference between an human and a gargoyle? (talking about gameplay).

Your gear should still be good with some minor upgrades here and there.

Europa is quite active, I play on there and it never seems dead...no idea about Felucca though.

Throwing = Basically 1 handed archery that uses no ammo with some penalties to compensate that.

Imbuing = New crafting skills that allows you to put the mods that you want onto gear. Certain restrictions and caps apply.

Mysticism = New casting line.

Flight = Not really a "skill" Gargoyles can not mount, instead they get to fly around.

As for a list of differences between the races, on the stratics front page, on the left hand side, there is a section called "Races" if you click on that, you can look at each race and see what the perks are for each.

If your gear is only 2 years old, then as others have pointed out, getting it up to speed is probably not going to be that difficult.

Is it only me who noticed he only quit 2 years ago? ...

1. Sorry, can't answer that.

2. Anyway, If you had gear from two years ago, aka runic barbed/horned stuff and arties, you should be ok. The new skill Imbuing has really become mainstream though for building suits.

3. People still do them on Baja.

4. Seems different per server, although I don't think its a huge part of the game.

5. If you don't purchase the expansion you will be missing out on a lot of new items and Imbuing.

6. Invalid covered those pretty well!

7. The new crafting materials for the new crafting skill are obtained through deconstructing other items. Kill monsters, collect junk, deconstruct into imbuing mats. The higher your imbuing skill and item "level" the higher level materials you'll recieve. Thats for the basic materials.

Other materials can be bought (common jewels) or you have to kill monsters in the abyss/other SA areas.

8. Skills seem easier imho. I got Legendary smithing on my mule in about 13 hours played. Was macroing, but I dont AFK. I just watch a movie and check back in every ten mins or so.

And as for answers well I seem to find lots to do, either raiding spawns, doing spawns, faction fights and if all else fails there is always yew gate. Guess the tramies just need to learn where to look LOL rolleyes:

Seems most of your questions are answered, I'd suggest you open up your account for 3 months and see how it goes, and shout over the Europa general channel (that's something new for you - we have a global chat channel in-game now) and in the Europa forums for other Spanish-speaking folks if you think you need them - even though your English seems fine to me! I do know we had at least two big Spain-based guilds and doubtless many other players around would be able to help explain the stuff that doesn't translate too easily!
