I was thinking about reactivating my account; it's been a few years so I have some general questions that I'm sure everyone asks.

1. I now have a Mac - I was wondering how hard it is to set up and play UO on the mac? I have a new Mac, so the operating system shouldn't be a question.

2. Is housing still a problem? Or are castle size lots around?

3. I don't have anything downloaded on my mac, what version should I buy?

That about sums it up. :)

Thanks

Can't really answer the first and last question. But housing isn't really a problem, depending on what shard you play that is.

There may be some castle spots around and some people here might be able to help with that. But again, depends on the shard.

I would look in the UO-tech forum, I think there is a Mac thread thread.

Quite a few of us use CrossOver or Wine to play UO's Enhanced Client, although with the classic client you could play it under VMWare, Parallels Desktop, or VirtualBox.

should add CC works 100% using wine, has for the better part of a decade. no sense emulating when you can run native.

Some people like running a full Windows environment for the CC if they are using a bunch of third party programs since it's easier.

All third party programs for uo (approved or not) use the windows message pump (SendMessage/PeekMessage, etc) which works perfectly in wine, so rest assured UOAssist, UOAM, etc... all work
