Anyone ever notice how many real companies are dropping books all over the shard selling gold for real money and advertising web sites? Isn't this illegal?

Just a few months ago, a guy was very obviously unattended scripting… walking around in the same circle of the Atlantic Luna Bank… around the bank, upstairs, down and around to the stables… time after time after time. Dropping books. Several of us would report this scripter every single time he would show up… and never did we get a game master response. Scripters… selling gold for cash… dropping books. It's commonplace. Some are extremely aggressive and obnoxious.

Something needs to be done!

Idea: Why not make the decay timer of books the same as death robes? What is it? 10 seconds after a death robe is thrown to the ground, it vanishes? Why can't books do the same thing? It would save a lot of effort trying to catch scripters.

You may say… “Players running events or promoting guilds need to drop books!”

I don’t think so. It's just as easy for a legitimate player to drop runes for their house and have these informational books locked down on the steps of a house.

Besides the gold selling scripters… books are used for harassment, making threats on players… rule of conduct violations. Violations that GMs never respond to when paged. It's happened to me and not long ago. The bad far outweighs the good. It's just as easy for legitimate players to promote guilds, player events, and story and news books… by locking the book down at their own house and dropping runes like we do for vendor malls. Yes, there are the odd rune-thieves collecting runes now and then, but the effect is the same. No books need to be dropped anyplace.

It's this or make the price of books a lot higher to discourage newbie accounts with little gold to be used for bannable offences.

Just an idea. Something really does need to be done. Thanks for reading.
