[Price Check] Coal Armor Pieces - Hue 1109

If anyone is able to appraise the following exceptional crafted armor pieces.
If anyone has any pieces to help me finish a suit for display, please contact me with what you have.
If I'm unable to finish a suit for display, will likely sell the pieces in this post.

Coal - hue 1109

This looks like modern made stuff dyed with Shadowdancer Tokuno dye to me.

It’s not. You can only dye colored ores with tokuno dyes. Those pieces have iron armor ratings and don’t have a color in their name.

So you can dye regular iron stuff with plant pigments but not Tok dyes?

Doesn't make sense, but good to know.

It’s been so long since I’ve seen a full suit of coal armor for sale anywhere. I would guess single mismatched pieces, maybe 15-50m? Even with parting out singles, if someone wants to complete a set, the real value comes from it either being the same smith, or just “exceptional”. A rad name doesn’t hurt. But yeah. 2 cents, I could be way off.

I have 28 different pieces of coal armor hue 1109. I will have to compare pieces when I get a chance. I might be interested in trading around or buying your pieces. I have other pieces that are hues 1175, 2405, 2406, 2409, 2410, 2411 and 2412. I have had these pieces for many years. Maybe you can give me info on the numbers that are not the 1109. The 1175 looks almost black.

1175 is the color of black natural dye. The regular armor you have in that hue is likely invasion armor, War of Shadows I think, maybe around 2008. Unlike with the 1109 SDB Tokuno dye, you can use natural dye to dye straight up NPC purchased armor, I wouldn’t put too much stake in that. It’s not really worth anything.

The 2400’s are old NPC purchased armor, used to come in random colors that didn’t match any of the regular ores. If you have a set, probably be worth a respectable amount to the right collector. I really wish I could give you a solid answer on when that went away, but I honestly can’t remember. I know it was around when I started with Renaissance, and I would say it probably went away between Third Age and AOS, but that’s just a guess.
