There has been a lot of talk lately about changing an item from a certain type into another item that would be worn in the same slot.
UO seems intent on making items for their game code site. I'd propose a token that would do this if not making it an in game thing. If you go the token route, charge like 9.99 for a 10 charge token or something. Instant money.

i agree. i don't like the idea of all my characters looking exactly a like with a conjurer's robe and garb. some variation to enhance the uniqueness of each character would be great. for example, changing a robe into a tunic or jester suit, or a half apron into an obi. it doesn't have to be done for all items, but these extremely powerful items that are best in slot and have no other items that are able to replace it.
Not only changing the style of garb for that wearable slot but enhancing the color with other rare cloth or BOD cloth. Could all be done in the tailoring menu. As far as making money for EA.. Enhance veteran Items and clothing up to Conjurers Garb levels and allow people to buy up lost time according to the ages of thier accounts in the online store.

We're at a point where we are more Warcraft than not. You have to wear the same to be successful. A Robe. An Apron. Glasses. Almost all worthwhile Swords are variants on the Radiant Scimitar.
It is about time we had a few more options concerning the modification of current items. Allow me to change that Conjurers Robe into a Conjurers Hakama. Let me turn the Mace and Shield Glasses into a Plated Helm. Allow me to change the graphic on the Rune Beetle Carapace to the Virtue Breastplate.
