Cloak of Augmentation: kinetic eater reveals you!?

I put my cape on for my ninja and whenever he hides, he gets revealed after kinetic eater heals him. This is an oversight I hope!! Please fix this.
Has anyone experienced this with invis spell as well?

I suspect that is by design, since other forms of healing also reveal you.

These healing methods reveal you:
1. Once a bandage is applied (the start of its timer)
2. Once the bandage is fininshed (the end of its timer)
3. Heal and Greater Heal spells
4. Healing potions (of any strength)

These healing methods do not reveal you:
1. Using HPR (either from items or transformations)

These healing methods I don't know:
1. While under the Gift of Renewal spell
2. Using a Healing stone

I am sure there are healing methods I cannot recall.

Since Kinetic Eater will only work when you take physical damage, are you sure the damage did not reveal you?

Gift of Renewal does not reveal.

Every healing method where you actively have to do something to initiate it reveals you, which makes sense. Thus, the eaters should not reveal. I assume this is an oversight.

Kinetic eater heals you after 4? seconds have passed AFTER taking damage. I would take a big dmg from ogre lord, I would then use shadow strike to hide and walk away a few steps. About 3 seconds later, I see sparklies around me and then reveal when message says I've healed. I don't have healing and didn't use potion. It's definitely the kinetic eater heal that reveals.

This has to be fixed. Bug reported.

Seems like it must be a bug.. Doesn't seem fair to reveal you like that.

I just remembered Frostguard has Cold Eater. This would also cause you to get revealed. Can't test, but I bet it is also bugged.

It sounds like the "Eater" properties work like bandages with a 4 second timer(equivalent to self application at 140-159 Dex), where the amount healed is based on the damage recieved. Bandages reveal you at the end of their timer too. "Eater" properties ar not a passive healing method, they have to be activated by taking damage (just as other methods need to be activated by using items).

I fail to see why this is a bug and why it needs to be fixed. It is a new item property and everyone will need to learn to work within its behavior. It sounds like you just happened to figure out this behavior first.

Well, mine doesn't reveal me. Just had it go off 4 times in the abyss, and not revealed.

So, either it is not a 100% reveal (perhaps based upon hide/stealth skill), or my thief is super cool, and is able to shrug off this "bug".

I hope it is the latter (I would like my thief to be super cool in the game just as I am IRL )

Did some quick testing and seems to not reveal me anymore. Maybe they fixed it or maybe I was hallucinating. But I swear it was borked previously.
Back on my ninja this cloak goes.

Any item that causes steathers to be revealed I like.
