CLEAN UP points are per character or account ?

I have it not clear, when turning in items for points under the new CLEAN UP system, whether they get awarded to the character turning in the item or they go to the whole account, regardless of what character actually discards the item. I hope they go to the account rather than to each individual character as, to my opinion, it would complicate the process of turning in items throughout the whole account and among the various characters...

Also, can points be transferred to other accounts ?

Say that a player has various accounts, and for ease of turning items in, they discard the items with the various accounts as they log in with the various character checking their inventory and bank boxes. In the end, the player wants to consolidate all points between the various accounts into 1 account only. Can points be then transferred to other accounts ?

I copied my tamer to test and she had 800k points over what Test gives you...I also copied Larisa over, she's my red, and she had 0 points.

I went to test center with 100 things on Raven.
I hit the copy button.
I was pricing/pointing stuff.

Time...
10 minutes to pick items.
30 second to copy and get to test center.
5 minutes to find trashcan on test center.

1 minute to id all the items for my merchants.

16 minutes and 30 seconds.

Time to log in to stratics, post, and keep checking back until i got my answer....

Well, I can understand that there are ways to make it possible to have all points on one character, whether from the 7 characters in 1 account or if a player has several accounts.

Since I noticed that they made it possible to discard items for points using one's own Home trash barrell, I thought, perhaps naively, that the 2011 Clean Up had been made more player friendly than the previous ones.

I mean, why allow players to use one's own Home trash barrel ? My guess is to make it easier for them to discard items for points.

Now, under this logic of thought, if the goal was to make it easier for players to discard items for points, why not ALSO make points go all to the account regardless of which character in that account would have discarded the items ??

I mean, if the goal is ease of use this would also be towards players being able to more easily discard their items and get their points focused onto 1 character and not scattered over several ones, right ?

And, under the same logic, since several players have several accounts, I thought again, that "if" the goal was to make it easier for players this time, then "perhaps" points could have been made tradeable from one account to another so as to make it easier for players having multiple accounts to consolidate all of their points onto 1 single account/claiming character.....

Bottom line is, that the trash barrel new option confused me as it made me think that besides this new ease to turn in for points more options to make the whole process more player friendly might have also been added.

awesome, thanks - haven't had the 17mins to go check it out - every time I go in, the wife's netflix pukes. That'll sure make it convenient. guessing you get a menu there giving item worth, your point tally, redemption prices, etc is?

Everyone should remember that we have a lot of players who have very limited playing time due to RL situations.



Also I have noticed a tendency for a few players? ( forum addicts )
who immediately respond in a negative way whenever Popps puts up a new post. Some go so far as to hijack a post Popps replies to with this unproductive chatter.

Now I admit some of Popps post can be long winded.
Some of my meds. can make me like that also.
( When wife nudges me with elbow, it's time to shut up awhile.)


However, I enjoy popps post and I hope we can all play together in our little sandbox while being kind to one another .

He doesn't want to just drag and drop items to one location, he wants all characters to be able to USE the "pool" Of POINTS >from the items<

Perhaps it was in reference to the evaluation of 850 items, but that's not the way it read to me:

You do know that a figure of 850 was mentioned in relation to the number of items that could be turned in?
I think it would be a mistake to try to make a comprehensive list - it would be too long for people to want to scroll through. That's why there's a context menu on the trash barrel.

I love this game, and just like any other game around, none are 100% perfect.

No upgrade, no patch, no event ... nothing, and I do mean NOTHING will be ever 100% perfect for 100% of the playerbase.
It is just impossible ... too many peoples, too many minds, too many thoughts, too many tastes, too many wishes ...

What will never stop to amaze me, is it seems some people keep on expecting this 100% perfection.
THEIR perception of 100% perfection mind you ...

Does everything need to be handed on a silver platter, you all want just to do your thing mindlessly???
We cannot think for ourselves anymore ???

One of the wonders of UO, one of the greatest things in this game,
one of the aspects that makes this game so special, is what we can do with our creative thinking, that what makes this the sandbox game we are all so proud of.

The MacDonalds shop, the Space shop, House designs, how peoples figured out to solo bosses, templates ... I can go on and on pointing out expamples of creative thinking that gives this game that special touch that no other game can offer you ...

Yet it seems with events like this some minds just cannot compute ... stop functioning, creativity no longer exsist ...
(though I find it very very creative what popps seems to conclude out of the sheer fact one can toss stuff in a house bin for points ...)
They cannot or better say will not find thier own soloution for thier own wishes from this event, which mind you differ from person to person.

* People get a chance to get some neat stuffies though an event ...
I personally think this is cool.
* They made it so it is not limited to one playstyle, but available to all in some form.

* They offer the convienience to collect points from your own house.
I persoanlly think this is cool.

Well, at least for me, it is not about perfection but simply that I had a feeling that this time, the Clean Up was intended to be more player friendly.

Because of the introduction of using a trash barrel in one's own home to claim points.

I may well be wrong, but my thinking was why make this addition if not to make it easier to players to claim their points ??

Now, "assuming" that this was the goal, that is to make claiming of points more players' friendly, why then not make it also account points, regardless of the character claiming them, rather than specific for the character turning in the items ?

Yes, there is a work around which means logging with all characters, checking their inventories and bank boxes, taking all items one wants to turn in to the home, log back in with the claiming character and thus consolidate all points onto that 1 character.

Sure, it can be done but ain't it annoying and time consuming ? It kinda conflicts, as I see it, with the trash barrel addition. On one side I see an easier way to turn in items (using a trashbarrel) but at the same one time I still see an annoyance to have to bring all items home from characters not the one earning the points.

I simply and just thought, that if the goal was to make it easier for players to earn their points then it would have been natural, at least as I see it, to make the points earned per account, and not character.

Personally, I would have also added the ability to trade points between accounts so as to help those players with multiple accounts and also those players ending up with spare points that won't be enough to claim anything but could have been traded to other accounts to at least earn them some gold to make their game play more fullfilling.

Considering the last cleanup, in which you have to recall to Brit, donate stuff to a box, and it was character bound.
Don't you even feel them putting in the option to be able to use the Trash Barrel at home is already a very nice user friendly addition?
You can place the Trash Barrel next to your chests and just toss away, in stead of packing all up and move it to a Brit chest.
Almost every Bank has a Trash Barrel, so each character can easily toss thier stuff.

Personally, I would have also added the ability to trade points between accounts ...

Think about the implications of this, what this would mean for "certain" peoples.

I really wish it were account based instead. I have 5 nub characters on each server for x sharding and each of them has the 6th anniversary bag with the fireworks wand, bell, and cake, as well as a Xmas box with a poinsetta, snowman, snowflake, and wreath. Sure I can solidify eqch server to one character and turn all the stuff in per shard for about 3 bless deeds eqch shard, but that does nothing for my main server.

Player B has 500,000 points on Atlantic but needs stuff on Baja.

I got junk chars on all shards too, been goin through 'em. Christmas Stockings, at least one holiday gift box, the red velvet box...that right there is alot of points. So trade *garbage for garbage*
