None of my friends have any points left really and obtaining enough to dye a suit or anything would be totally impossible for them.

You would think the DEV's would have thought about this a bit more. Perhaps they should think about the outrage and all over the 1 use dyes that they gave us recently. Most folk I know either sold them or gave them away because one use dye wasn't of any use to them... and being able to acquire enough to make it worthwhile was either too expensive or just plain out of the question unless you are someone with multiple accounts or billions in gold...


Come on DEV's the average player isn't going to be able to get any of these dyes. Not at those prices and why would they bother at one charge. I guess then you are just gearing this dye to the very rich then?

Suppose that's like the new stuff in Shame... just make the very rich richer.... by making it spawn better in Fel so all the zerg/gank guilds who run the websites selling gold and everything can have one more thing to farm and sell to make more gold to line their pockets with cash with... A more balanced and less frenetic approach would have been appreciated. Quarterly changes and costs commensurate to the usability of the item would have gone further towards making this a very effective gold sink over time.

Without knowing "if" anything else will be added later on, "and" what it will be, it is hard to make up any plans with one's own points........

Is it better to invest them in the current rewards ? Or is it better to save them up for later rewards ? But what if there will be no later rewards or they will not be appealing ?

I mean, without knowing what lays ahead it is quite difficult to make good planning with what to do with one's own points........

Sheesh Kayne that is poor.. especially with the economy so bad that a cup of coffee would cost ya 250k.

I remember when gold in UO sold for about 40 bucks per mil. I used to joke about UO gold being worth more than the real money in some countries.

But these additions to the Cleanup do show me that somebody in EA listens to players wants. Also if they are making an attempt to correct the rampant inflation with all the goldsinks then they probably aren't planning on ending UO anytime soon.

Same boat here, but it's cool. The clean-up gave me just the motivation I needed to clear out some unneeded stuff I'd been saving, and finally get the bee hives my chef has been coveting for ages! I'm a happy camper.

the clean up is about right id say, the High point items cannot be obtained but theres still plenty of items you can farm for up to at least 1250 a pop.

Tmaps, Epiphany armor, Stygian dragon head, slasher claw, other one per peerless items (eternally corrupt tree, dread horn head, etc)

Fishers still have a great way to rack up points with lava fishing, MIBs

Resource gatherers could make points with ingots/ore/leather etc.

As long as the point value for still obtainable turnins stays low to mid, then this system should be a nice long running collection.

Maybe keep a running total of points per shard and the first shard to hit a certain number gets a Jade Statue of Al Gore (cleanup-green movement hehe)

I think overall its a good system to be made permanent, especially with the new function in dungeon revamps. Good way to add new colors to game without having them be common. Gives people new reasons to hunt in places they might not otherwise.

You are wasting your typing. These boards are full of whiners that spend more time on Stratics than in UO. If they played the game they would find that this stuff is way more obtainable than they make out. But instead - they just complain about everything.

I'm still sitting on 5mil points on GL and about 500k on every other shard... Waiting to see what other items might be up to claim...

Im so happy this confirmed the cleaning will continue maybe forever. Im not going for the colours this time, but maybe next time there will be something for me. Most things I do ingame can be turned to points . T-hunting mib fishing lava hook fishing bod filling, hunting , making bottles of ichor, my lumberjacker saved the luminicent fungi luckily. I trashed some old tepestries and placed the virtue ones and got points there..could go on forever. Dark wisps sounds interesting as well!

have anyone done these lately? I'd agree w/ 1in3 wisps, a month or so ago, not anymore. They 'were' great, especially if you wanted black or white chests. Paragon wisps? i've gotten none from them (those don't work correctly anyways)

Also went to that big tree spot in ilshenar w/ the spider cave, 2 troll spawns, spiders, reapers - y'all know where i'm talking about. Usually went there specifically for white/black chests for deco, so I've spent a lot of time there as well, and have been doing that area for well over a couple years. Went there this morning, 2 HOURS, para spawn was still at a pretty normal rate, got ONE chest. a bare chest = 100pts so it got a big nurf - i can't think why i'd go play that area again now

as far as this being phase 2, you're wrong. this is just a small addition. phase 2 would be more of a change with items being removed. phase 2 of compassion dyes, sure. phase 2 of the clean up as a whole, no.

its unstable it is phasing in and out.

What esle they phasing in besides the 25 million dyes. Sounds like a sweet gold sink that is already getting you all to whine.

Adding four dye colors hardly constitutes "Phase 2". Probably took about 15-20 minutes of work. No wonder EA doesn't put anymore money into UO when they can just dangle a couple of pretty colors in front of the majority of the player base and appease them.

Adding stuff is great and all, but can I use my spring cleaning points in the system yet? I have a pile of scrolls with points and don't want to throw new stuff away until I use the points I've already got. I haven't heard if they added this capability yet.

one small set of items that will change monthly, not a phase two but some people like to think they predicted it. Though it wasnt a prediction it was just a guess that went by the fact that the 2nd cleanup had multi stages.
Think of the long lasting cleanup as a way for newer players/characters to get some decent/basic items.
New to a shard? well play trash man around banks and high traffic areas like the old days and then instead of sellin them to NPC just trash em for points towards a training/starter suit. Trash enough and get the suit then once skills are high enough head to new shame and hunt down new loots to make a better suit. These two things together should be a good way to help newer chars/players.
The cost of dye does seem alil much for a 1 charge shot but it also keeps the colors kind of rare. A way for the latest devs to make new rareables?
