Clarification re: Bldgs and Invasions

This is just a question regarding being in a building during a cog invasion. When you enter a floor during an invasion, do you get the double experience points/merits for the entire floor even if the invasion ends? I mean, even after the invasion ends, additional cogs coming off the elevator are invasion cogs, so they should count for doubles, right?

I was on the top floor with some randoms, and they wanted to wait for a new invasion, even though we were engaged with the last set of cogs to exit the elevator prior to the invasion ending. I understand not wanting to go up to the next floor until a new invasion starts, but I believe it's safe to finish the building once you are on the top floor....

If you're in a building during, say, a Double Talker invasion, you will get double xp for all the Double Talkers that pop and you defeat. You are correct.

I know what you're referring to, as I've come across others who seem to think that the invasion status is all that matters. In reality, what matters is the status when you enter the floor. If there are invasion cogs on that floor, then it doesn't matter how many invasions come and go, the gag points are double the normal value for that floor. The only difference that I've noticed is when you start to dance in a building. I've heard that it doesn't give you double (merits/bucks/etc) to dance during, but it looks like it does.

The good thing is, they know that invasions are important. The bad thing is, they might end one floor, invasion ends, and then they are impatient for you to enter the elevator and stink you while you hold out hoping for a new invasion to start first. Simply because they think that they can wait on the next floor and then get gag points.

Just remember your runs with me. What's my goal? Get to the top floor as quickly as possible while there is an invasion. Once on the top floor, drag it out to get all the gag pts possible. In a 4 story building, with 5x the points on the top floor, it's easy to get +200 in ToonUp points. You never see me care that an invasion ended.

To put it into simple terms to remember, if you are fighting an invasion cog, you get invasion credit for the gags you use.

As long as the invasion had already been on when entering that floor you get the points even if ends before finishing it. And yes, invasion has to be on when dancing.

My recent experiences has shown that, if an invasion ends BEFORE you dance, you will not get double merits/bucks whatever. The invasion must be on while dancing. On that same note, if there is no invasion the whole building and an invasion starts just before you start dancing, you will get double.

Okay let's make this simple.

For double (merits/bucks/etc), you must start the final dancing during an invasion. If one begins a second before or ends a second after, you get double because you started dancing during the invasion.

For double the normal gag points, you must enter the floor during an invasion. If it ends after the elevator doors close and before you get to the next floor, no invasion points for you. If it ends after you get to the floor (lets say the doors open and suddenly it ends), guess what? You get invasion points because you made it just in time.

Think of it like this... How you enter the floor is what matters. If you enter during an invasion, you have invasion status for that floor, period. If you enter without an invasion, then you get no invasion points for that floor, period.

When I take some of my friends in a building, I try for 4+ stories when possible because the points at the top floor are outrageous. To make this simple, you take the floor number, add 1, and that is your multiplier for your gags. ie, 4th floor, add 1 = 5, you get 5 times the gag points. So a birthday cake goes from 6 points to 30 points. Use 3 of those on the top floor, you get 90 points. 5th floor + 1 = 6 = 36 points for a level 6 gag.


So.. Starting the final dance during invasion = double merits/bucks/etc. Starting a floor during invasion = double the normal gag points. "Floor number + 1" is your gag multiplier if you're getting invasion points.


Oh also, the final dancing doesn't affect your gag points. That's already been determined as you enter each floor.

Have you tested this? Is this new? It's always been the same as gags in buildings; double.

Me too, my comments are only for merits, bucks, notices, and options. Gag experience is as stated by others. HOWEVER, due to a bug in TT, If someone throws a TU unite in a building, there gag experience will be reset to zero.
