City/Town Loyalty

These are the titles as found in the client files:


Venerated

- - or possibly titles 'above' venerated for which we need to do something to affect the other axis.

Last night my venerated character's loyalty to Scara was down to 'adored' so I worked to refresh it and get the loyalty status back up to 'venerated' again .. but great! Skara was being invaded by Raiders.

So between making protesters happy, taking angry rioters prisoners, and subduing, capturing and marching Raiders to the Captain of the Guard, my character was 'Venerated' when I logged out.

Tonight, I'll try work further, just to see what, if anything else, can be achieved.

i have never done any thing in any town other than the one im in i have allways logged off in the town and ihave just changed from addored to reverd and been logged off for about 2 hours ill see tomorrow if i drop back to addored as i had only just changed

i killed about 3 protestors by mistake in early days

I have been working Moonglow for a while. I did a few things in Yew and Skara to become positive loyalty for a while then it went negative. I am finally back to unknown in those two towns and venerated in Moonglow. So i stay away from all other towns til we know more.

Just keep at it, SinDee. It will come! Adored to Venerated takes awhile.

Yes.
Meanwhile, we keep refreshing our character's loyalty until we learn what it is all about. At least I've found out that everyone one of your characters on the same account can each be loyal to a different city.

Has anyone else noticed that some cities and towns are sadly lacking in how many angry rioters spawn?

In Scara there are so many I never stop taking the rioters to the Captain of the Guard even when other players are there working on their Loyalty gains.

In Britain, for example, for such a huge city, one has to go from one end of the town, across bridges to the other side of town and all over that Eastern Area to all the Britain Farms across the Bridge in the West to locate the very FEW angry rioters.

Tonight I give up working in Britain. My character is 'adored' but ..

Other than putting out the fires that are accessible, and feeding angry protesters, it is hard to gain any more loyalty. The city of Britain has angry TWO rioters "out of reach" and "unreachable" because they're stuck inside walls that have no access. One is in the walls next to the entranceway to Brit Castle, and the other is inside a square brick wall attached to the bard building in the North part of town.

I spend more time returning to the guard captain than looking for angry rioters. The distance between east Britain bank and the guard captain is more or less the same as the distance between Vesper and Minoc and it is a real journey for characters that doesn't have enough Magery to cast Gate Travel. To make the matters worse, I encounter more rioters on the east side of Britain than the west side.

The poll on uoguide says about a quarter of the players help Skara Brae and I think this is because it is a more compact city, thus easier to search and return the arrested rioters to the guard captain. The time it takes to return a rioter triples in Britain, so players who help Britain need to invest three times more time for the event than the players who help Skara Brae, provided that they can't use the spell Gate Travel.

The cities of Trinsic, Vesper and Yew suffer from the same problem. Guard captains should have been located at the city centers and not on a remote location. Is it too late to move the guard captains to city centers or just put another guard captain to east Britain, south Trinsic and Yew bank?

DISEASED RAT INVASION OCCURING IN BRIT CItY right now.

I haven't given up trying for Venerated status in Brit City but had to quit for the time being because of the RATS.

The decay of loyalty might be faster than what can be gained in Britain city. But for sure .. one needs to use gates when you find one so carry a hundred gate scrolls if your character can't gate. Also, I am seeing a pattern in that, TWO Rioters will appear each time in the area that the first one appears.. then move far away from that area and search elsewhere in BRIT. I have found rioters inside the Brit Castle Gates, at the furtherest farm NW, on the perimiter circumference of NW to SW outside the main city across the moat.. and of course everywhere NE and in central town from anywhere North to South and East to West .. you need fast transport too such as from a Gargoyle in flight or an etheral to ride.

Now of all things .. this! RATS!

I keep wondering how you are making out with loyalty to Trinsic SinDee.

Britain began to look hopeless to me. I was frustrated with Raider Invasions, followed by diseased rat infestations, plus the size of the city and having to search high and low for angry rioters which were few and far between .. but I took my advice to you and stuck to it! - - and yesterday, there seemed to be more angry rioters in Britain, scattered far and wide as usual but I kept at it and - -


... YAYE!!!

Magincia has turned out to be a good choice. It's a relatively small area, and there always seems to be plenty of angry protesters to feed and angry rioters to arrest. There usually aren't too many people working the area at one time. I've managed to get two of my characters to venerated, and may bring a third one into the mix. I do wish the decay rate was slower, though. You pretty much have to work each character every day to keep from dropping back to adored.
