Since the day SA came out you have left something like 200 poisonous gas traps stuck on top of each other in the city of the dead champ spawn.

Get a world builder to knock that down to say....one maybe?

Anyone in the Enhanced client that gets this thing on screen will lag to death and their computer will in fact explode and kill their children.

What shard, I go through city while hunting all the time and I've never noticed lag there on siege (nor a stacked trap).

I still hate that spawn though, since things love to spawn in unreachable areas. (though not as bad as ice east)

I keep reading where EC doesn't have problems anymore. It must be your connection.
It is not exactly an ec problem, in fact it would cause close to the same problem on any client.

I do have to ask what shard, as on two of the ones I play I have not noticed this.

By your own posting "they have" dropped from 500 down to around 200
in one year !!! (pic post 06-08-2010 this thread 06-14-11)

maybe you are the sole survivor of going there?
what with "explosions" and all ...
it would be reasonable that the "dead" were unable to report the problem ...

Ok Fayled, that monstrosity is filled with redneck awesomness.

Finally as for the EC problem, that's going to fry almost ANY video card (especially if they are continuously firing) because the EC uses the particle effect engine and each instance is being processed separately. Much like the huge explosions that are actually hundreds of Flamestrike effects. Having that many separate particle effects happening at once is going to choke just about ANY video card on the market at this time.

wtf are you talking about ... are you high ? my 5850 has zero issues and that card is over a year old.

You have had over 500 animation particles go off at one time and didn't have lag? Your computer did not tell you to screw off, turned off and won't turn back on? Because no amount of Video acceleration is going to help with such an issue, its like using 5gigs of ram when you only have 2.

it is NOT merely a "card fault"

It IS a >combination< of factors, graphics, mother board, OS, back ground processes, priority assignments, local & power supply fluctuations, weather ...
not to mention "operator" induced possibilities to consider ...

I mean ... the OP has me all :sad3: afeared that my comp might kill one of my kids if I go there ... I don't like them all that much, but,
who do you think will HAVE to clean THAT mess up?

it might not even be the graphics card ...
it could be the hard drive choking on an auto save to clear the memory leak flush and fill, to handle the burst of ...
what is it now? 750, 500, 200 graphic change stores?

as did mine ... one Draconi BBQ and it worked nicely! altho it was the CC, not the EC. Perchance that be the reason why? <ducks for cover>

One shot of a Draconi explosion will generally lag the hell out of the ec, but having that effect go off continually or another effect that is layered like the traps going off continually will cause problems.

which goes back to >specific< equipment architecture
which they(used to) test against a wide range of component assemblies ...
have to ... SO that they can state the "minimum requirements" to run the software in/under ...

which would seem to be exactly where we are ...
this graphics card okay
that graphics card, passable IF this mother board & that kind of memory
but if back ground processes .... yadda yadda techno-geek-babble ...

The Draconi blast would not have handled flawlessly on no machine when EC launched (aka when Draconi was around) Considering the client itself was not flawless enough to actually handle it as such.

That aside, even running around on the EC, no matter the system, it will bog down due to how it runs, take the particle effects of said traps going off continually and it will over run any amount of video card memory, and your ram, and your processor, eventually leading to a shut down.

Granted most of what I said is theoretically dependent on there actually being 200+ particle effects going off at the same time all the time, and I have not witnessed such a thing.
