Chicken Battle Lizards

ok. I fought and killed a ga-zillion chicken liazrads. The heads up here is there seems to be some kind of timer, maybe? When I logged in and out, killing them, I killed probably 80 w/o a single egg. When I stayed on and farmed, I was sucessful.

The guide says, 0 taming needed to tame your battle chicken, anyone can do it.
Baloney. I used over 10 collars to tame 2 battle chickens (of 7 eggs). My last was tamed w/o a collar, though by then I was increasing and working on my taming and lore. Either drop a skill on a stone and start using those skills, or buy some more collars.

Though---- my battle chickens never went vorpal. So- what is the point of the collars?

More info is obviously needed on these subjects. Can anyone supply?

Are the collars supposed to tame them without the taming skill at all?
With the taming skill, there's no benefit to a collar?

that I don't know. I finally tamed a chicken lizard, with 13 taming and 30 lore, so I could coop it. After it is bonded, it may supply 2 eggs a week, with a 10% chance of a battle chicken. I got 2 from the 7 eggs I got from farming many chicken lizards in field.

W or w/o the collar, I could fail. From the UO guide, I thought that with 0 skill you had 100% chance of taming. At least with an elf character, this is wrong.

How many do you need? I think I only have 3 or 4 on vendor...if you need more, just let me know, I will get carpentry off stones and make them.

THAT is illegal. We plan on just letting the battle chickens, arm wrestle, or something. Maybe trivia pursuit.
