I do not think the team will release any details of their investigation. Let's hope this is just a beginning. *nods*

bah - because of lawsuits and crap they probably staged a fake house burning to try to set an example.

I am a little behind on the times on this.
There are many ways to cheat so, what are they finding them guilty of.
Are there any specifics?
What does the house burning do in total. Just destroy thier house?
I know very little on the subject.
Just interested, and suprised that something is actually being done whatever it is.

Of all the posts I've read on this event yours is the only one that makes that allegation.

Everyone else is only talking about a known duper with identical set ups on most American shards, no mention of corruption within EA.

With the responsiveness shown this week by the team, and the stuff in the publish and HoC transcript I'm beginning to get the feeling that moving to Virginia is going to be a good thing. I get the impression that the development team have more freedom and less constraints.

I toured the one burning on Ches. tonite. *was kinda surprised there was only one torching there* atm.

Found it interesting to see the scarecrow named *traitor* standing in the burning rubble.

He may be basing that on a comment in an excerpt pasted from the HoC transcript by Sergul'zan_SP on U.Hall:

Draconi's post from the HoC:

[18:28] Draconi: But seriously. Many of you may have also, like Noxin, noticed that quite a few homes around Britannia have spontaenously caught fire. While, as with all Customer Service actions, we can't comment on specifics, we'd like to remind you that cheating will not be tolerated.
[18:29] Draconi: The recent actions were the result of work by the community, CS, and designers
[18:29] Draconi: Note: Adida was a former GM.
[18:29] Draconi: Note #2: I like fire

[/ QUOTE ]

Draconi does say "Adida was a former GM" in that snippet, but that particular comment has no useful context with it, where I read it. Certainly nothing that indicated Adida was part of the scripting ring they blew up yesterday. Perhaps someone who has the entire transcript and/or listened to the HoC session can comment, but I seriously doubt that if a dev came out and said to the players in a live chat feed, that a GM was behind most of that, that U.Hall would be so mysteriously quiet about it...I would expect there would be mobs in the street complete with torches, pitchforks, etc. screaming for GM reviews, etc.

*edit*

The full transcript of the HoC was posted. Adida was actually a main participant in that chat, and is apparently connected with development now in some fashion. I saw no mention of anything hinting at GM corruption being connected to the scripter ring, the property of which was incinerated yesterday.

Of more importance to me was this disturbing portion:

Sprite - *chitrani* Is there any hope Cooks will get tools that can be used as weapons ? I'd love to be able owhack a monster with my frying pan or rolling pin.
Jeremy_EAMythic - I want a 50% DI fire damage runic crafted frying pan!
Draconi - Okay. The idea of a Jeremy wielding a runic frying pan just...
Draconi - Yeah, no plans at present I'm afraid
Jeremy_EAMythic - *pouts*

Adida was an awesome GM. Probably the only one I can say that about since Starblade in the early days of UO. A year or two ago I had consistent problems where I wouldn't be able to ride a faction mount on Rykus after being put into stat loss even though I was well over rank 2. 90% of the time when I paged for this issue she would appear within literally a minute or two and would fix the issue. It happened so frequently that after the first few times I would page and she would appear with some kind of friendly/joking remark about being high maintenance or just wanting attention.
I was always in character and she responded in kind. UO would have little to no customer service complaints if more GMs were like her.

I'm very glad they promoted her to Designer and look forward to the work she does for UO.

Too little, too late...the damage has already been done and it's only going to cause more people to leave, even if they are the ones you don't want here in the first place.

It's not like you're going to see a massive influx of people returning because EA decided to string up a few more cheaters. EA has yet to do anything worthy of making people want to come back, UOKR is an eyesore and the last time they added any new content worth occupying more than ten minutes of your time was Mondain's Legacy...almost 2.5 years ago, August 2005.

UOKR = Epic fail

Just imagine what they could've done had they put that money into nothing but new content and bug/cheat fixes.
I dearly miss the housing system of UO, but there are just too many other good games out there now to waste any more time playing this tired, neglected game.

Get used to seeing cheap little stunts like this every now and again, it doesn't cost EA a penny, they've been sitting on most of these houses for quite some time now, and if knocking a couple down every once in awhile manages to keep just a few more people from cancelling their accounts then they will consider it to be time well spent.

so they made her or she allowed them to burn her possessions for the job.......on goes the scripting....they cannot stop it, sad but true

where on earth are you getting your information from?

The only input Adida had to this event was as Draconi's accomplice. They were not her houses that were burned and I'd be very interested to know where you're getting the idea that they were.

Certainly not from the house of commons transcript.

Adida = former GM = CURRENT designer, helping Draconi with the blowup project

In other news, someone started a cute thread with flamethrower pics on U.Hall for Draconi, so I swiped their idea, and put it in a sig.

should persuade him to use it.

Their sigs seem to have disappeared. Leurocian had one, but hasn't now.

His should have the slogan 'no promises' on it
