Chargable Houseteleporters

I love the new Teleporters, its even better that they are now for sale , epc since my account is not old enough to pick one yet.

I just have one issue... Teleporting should reveal.
At least if its not your own house.

Found a friendly fella that thought there is nothing more fun to drain the charges on my teleporter, so i banned him from the house.

Well appearently this must be a hobby of his, since he came back with a second accound (all trial as he was so happy to share...cant ruin that good name of the main character after all..)

Well now he was doing it with stealth, and i couldnt get him revealed fast enough between the ports to ban him.

for now my Teleporter will sadly have to stay for my use only since i really have better things to do then babysit some tart that seems to have a very boring evening

One thing I found is that only characters who have been given access to the setting on the teleporters can use them. Yours sound like they are set for use by anyone. Perhaps you should consider setting them to friends level access if this idiot comes back, banning him will be a lot easier if he can't teleport. You can always set them back to anyone after you've banned him, but do remember to set the access to a level he hasn't got before you ban him. I'd like to see him try to teleport and get the access denied message instead. If he persists in trying to overuse your teleporters, you could always set up a contact means on a rune or some other in-game message system. I think though he will eventually tire of attempting to waste your time and find something useful to do instead.

you could set one to anyone then put the other in a Fel house set to owner only and then have your friends help you give him a welcome to Fel party when he comes.
*EDIT make the teleporter in fel owner only, house to anyone

Sure enough not even a minute later i heard the tele sound again... so i went to check, but only seen the little spark and that over and over , he was stealthed, once i found out i couldnt reveal him before he ported back i set it to friends only, and went to my destination, where he was still trying... at least it looks though that the porter uses still charges even if the destination ins blocked.

He did stop after he seen me and dissapeared and my Teles are now set to friends only...

Na but seriusly, not really a reason to need to be able to port between houses stealthed or at least maybe a 2 second delay between ports for people that dont own the house ?

I don't think house teleporters will use charges if you can't teleport. My tests indicate with a set of 4 pairs I have just purchased showed that if my character could not use the teleporter, he could not cause a charge to be used up on them. If yours work differently you should either page a Game Master to get them fixed (probably not much chance of that) or preferably better would be to email in-game support at [email protected] with the name and account (NOT password) that owns the house which is having charges depleted on it's teleporter and see if they can fix it for you without you having to try and word a page to a Game Master so that they will actually come and look at your house teleporters.

Oh I agree there should be a delay or something along those lines. I was just throwing out ideas til something else can be done

I haven't tried this myself, so I don't know if it works for everyone if the access is set to 'anyone'. But I could drop the gate scrolls onto any house teleporter I had access to, and recharge it whether I owned the house or not. If that works you should consider a vendor selling gate scrolls, and make a little gold off his gallivanting around wildly.

Unless that trial account guy knows how to make lots of gold it should be fairly easy to put up stocks of gate scrolls at prices he can't easily buy up. I very much doubt he will want to go to the trouble of buying out your gate scrolls, and even if he does you make a profit off him.

Trouble is a warning gump comes up telling you you're porting into a non-consenual pvp area.

Just the bearer of bad news. Personally I'd rather they didn't have the warning and just moved you the same as between 2 tram rulesets. I put a set between my houses, one in tram, one in fel. That gump gets annoying going back and forth as much as I do.

I don't think there are any options other than the security options. It's meant to prevent people from using it lure and trap people in fel so they can gank them.

as it should be, don't need griefing. sorry but what i meant was isn't there a way to cancel that message out for your character personally. i thought it was on the gump when it comes up, with a "don't ask me this again" box to check. or is that just for the fel spawns in the Abyss?

In my opinion, no you don't need to be revealed when you use them. No other teleporter pads do that so why should the ones linking houses do it? You get the audible signal that they're being used and, as you found out, that was more than sufficient to let you know someone was using the pads.

If the pads were changed to reveal the user, that would only help you keep someone from draining the charges if you or friends want to guard your houses 23 1/2 hours per day to ban the jerks. In that case, the jerks win even if you get them banned from your house because they just figured out how to play a game with you where you'll always be the loser. You and your friends will never have time to do anything else in the game because you'll always have to be house-sitting. Fun fun.

Also, if EA takes your suggestion and changes house teleporter pads so they reveal you when used, they need to significantly drop the price on the rechargeable ones, significantly lower the account age requirement for the vet reward version, and offer refunds to the people who already purchased them based on the way they currently function. I'll return the sets I already bought because they're not worth having if your character is revealed when using them.

If you absolutely have to set up your pads with "anyone" access, break the bank and buy and install (perhaps with the help of a friend if your accounts aren't old enough) a pair of vet reward house teleporter pads. Then no one can turn you and your friends into teleporter monitors.

i thought it was on the gump when it comes up, with a "don't ask me this again" box to check. or is that just for the fel spawns in the Abyss?

I think that's unique to the abyss. I haven't seen the option on my gump, but it's possible I just didn't notice it.
