Ok, so im decoring my new keep moving chests etc...guess what?I forgot to lock a chest down...45 heritage tokens and 76 7th yr tokens *poof* gone...figured i would share that for my friends and foes...

You do the math...

P.S. Forgot, one shadow token too...

Needless to say when i saw a gap where a chest should be my balls scrunched up so tight they was as big as marbles...

It's easily done, and I think we've all been there, though not with quite such expensive consequences.

That is truly painful...sorry that happened to you.

I am so totally paranoid about that...whenever I rearrange my own house or am working on someone else's house before I will log out I go over every container twice and check lockdown/security no matter how tedious it is.

It is so easy to miss something. It would be nice if there were some way to be notified in your own house when something is not secured before you leave it.

Its to bad UO dont just put them in the crate till you actually get the chance to throw in trash barrel or something...
every time i move something... i always go doubble ckeck it only because i have made the same mistake... IT SUCKS

If I'm at all concerned about that I enter customize mode. Anything that isn't locked down deposits under the house sign and I scoop it up.

Well...there are 2 big problems with that.

1.) You can't enter customize mode without elven furniture, fountains of life, etc. first being removed. That can often be a bigger pain and risk of loss than simply carefully going over your recently changed area. Also, if you have spent hours using goza mats and chopped add-ons, simply entering custom mode can push all those items into the moving crate.

2.) Anyone passing by can scoop up what is pushed under the house sign

I lost items a long time ago because the server reverted. Now I only use secured chests that have locked down though a server maintenance. It takes 2 days to move stuff but I know that a chest isn't going to decay with my items in it.

You could drop something behind a tree in the woods and come back a week later and get it.
