The Royal Investigators program has been in place for several years now. And I think it's been a lot of fun! But there's always room for improvement. This is what we came up with to better the program:
Reports Submissions & Publication
Previously, reports were written and posted in-game, as books. Which sometimes were locked down in Skaros' Office, usually to be forgotten. We always felt it was a shame to let all those stories go to waste.
So starting with Skaros' Investigation in Skara Brae, we will no longer be accepting in-game books for reports. From now on all Royal Investigators should post their reports directly on our website. There's a button conveniently located below each Royal Investigators Mission, where you can submit your report.
After the submission deadline for the mission has passed, all reports for that mission will be published. So everybody, including those who weren't able to partake, can read up on what other Royal Investigators found out. If for some reason you do not want your report to be published, please state so at the top of the report.
Bullet-point Reports, Full Reports & Screenshots
Also starting with the current investigation in Skara Brae, we will be granting points for bullet-point reports and screenshots. The exact amounts of points may vary depending on the mission, but here's an outline to give you an idea on how we'll be counting:
1 point for a screenshot.
1 point for a bullet-point report.
3 points for a full report.
That means a maximum of 4 points can be earned in this mission for a full report that includes a screenshot. Or 2 points could be earned for a bullet-point report with a screenshot.
A bullet-point report is a brief report of your findings while on the mission. Mention the places you've visited, important clues, people you've talked to and what they had to say, things like that.
We hope these changes will make the Royal Investigators program accessible to more people, and even more fun!
