I guess my beef, and therefore my point, is that by being able to bring a Young character into the room where Melissa spawns without having to deal with all the rest of the monsters waiting to help you see the Grey Screen O Death is that they basically have a better (and easier) chance at the loot than I do.

Sour grapes, you betcha.

And romantic as it would be to think we are there for some grander purpose than snagging a Crimson, that isn't why I'm there. When I want to do something altruistic during this event I log in the character parked in the Ethereal Fortress and resurrect ghosts.

Nonsense! I made this quest with my crafter, and he got through to the Ambassador alive. It is all a matter of timing, speed and coordination, and a little luck.

i've made this quest with crafters, too. One was my own crafter with 80 magery and the other one was my cousin's crafter with only 35 magery! they both got through to the ambassador alive, although it was kinda scary on my cousin's crafter lol because of the low magery. i agree it is all a matter of timing, speed, coordination, and a little luck!
