CFO question

Ok, I know now is a fine time to ask, now that I'm a RB 25, but in case there's something I could've been doing .... Is there ANY way to protect a craner from those flying disks? I've run into the treads to try and distract him when I see him eyeing a craner, but that didn't seem to work. When I first started, I tried jumping up and down in front of the craner, but all that did was get us BOTH hit! And one stunk me once, so I figured I might be actually attracting his attention to us! So, is there anyway for a stomper to keep the disks from hitting the craner, even taking the shots himself?

Do not stand in front of the craners while you're idle. And if you see the CFO aiming for a craner, run into his treads immediately. That's about all you can do. The craner should be jumping off the crane when they see the CFO is about to target them.

Jumping on the threads is the only way (distracting the cfo)
but it works only on one side, the side he will be facing most of the time.

This is a very risky thing to do though, since you are on the ground, you can't see all the craners and if you jump on the threads at the same time a craner throws a goon, you might reset him and this will make the craners angry.

Like anything else, it takes practice. :)

I never heard about the only hitting the treads on one side thing, but had been told not to do it when he was already stunned (stars flying around his head). But if you play Toontown with the "don't do it or someone might get mad" in your head, you might as well hang it up now!! I've seen toons stunk for every conceivable thing, from not throwing jelly beans to grabbing a laff boost first to not going in a building with them or going IN the building to not doing anything but standing there!! :coco:

Shoot, I even got a run by stinking once. I was running down a street looking for a building for a friend. When out of nowhere I get a whisper "You Stink". I had to stop cause I was laughing too hard to run. I get stinkied alot becuase I turn off my friends list. But I don't let it bother me. Usually I say "Thanks a Million" or something along that line. Which I know probably makes them madder but I have been playing long enough to MAX my gags, and become a 100+laff toon. In the 17 weeeks I have been playing I have not asked a Higher then me level toon to "please be my friend". If they wanted to be my friend they would have asked me.

But alas. I know its mostly kids doing this and I love kids and thats how come it dont bother me.

P.S. my 5 Y/O askes alot of people to be friends. He don't know any better though. And he has completed every task that he has taken on his own. Once someone explained what he had to do.

I do know that when I am not a small toon, I can sometimes jump in front of the gears that are being shot at the craners and take the hit for them.

My favorite replay to "You Stink" is "Likewise I'm sure" or "You wish." LOL.

I had assumed I could take the gear shots for the craner too, but then I started noticing that when those gears hit, and the craner was behind me, that the -10 was on them too, so now I'm careful not to stand in front of the craner for very long, but I had wondered if you could throw your toon body in front of it if you happened to be in the area, like you can the goons.
