Hi everyone...

After my first CFO run with randoms in Toontown, Granny Jellyroll made a suggestion to me, and I decided to post it on the board. The problem I ran into was that NO ONE wanted to operate the cranes, and I didn't know how...AT ALL. This resulted in me going sad. Now, every time I have done runs with Stratics folks, they were very organized with craners and stompers, and thus went well. But with randoms, it's really hard to get in with a group that has craners. Which leads me to the suggestion:

Could we organize some kind of craner training? Maybe CFO runs with experienced craners advising trainee craners on what to do. Of course, you would have to be SF with your trainer, but it seems like a good idea to me. What do you guys think?

Hey Cooper I will be willing to help you out. I thought your first CFO run was with a few of my good friends. I think you were stomping the goons. Anyway I am working on my bucks now so just set up a time and I should be able to make it. WEll are you thinking after 9pm est?

I totally like this idea for special training in any boss battle! I personally don't know how to crane either!

i can not tell you (you KNOW now Cooper) how invaluable it is to have the ability to crane-even if you don't need it. you never know when someone is going to get booted.. you never know if in a random group everyone is awesome stompers but no craners. having a preference afterwards is fine, but at least knowing what to do and how to do it... it may save you some day from going sad.

if someone wants to go tonight i'll go. lilac is maxd on cash and i could easily sf someone. i am not the greatest craner, but i do know how to do it, and 1 time in a random cfo i was the ONLY craner, so believe me...that knowledge can save you someday.

Yes, I'd like to learn to crane better too. Do you mean after CEO?

It's a great idea. I wish I could come help, but it sounds like y'all are planning this tonight, and with the CEO moving up an hour I don't think I can stay around that long.

I would be happy to help but I can't stay that late. I would be happy to run with you anytime and try to help you.

Best advice I can give. :scholar:The first few times you crane only throw GOONS. Do't even pick up a safe. :scholar:Once you get good at throwing goons move up to safes and you will do just fine. :scholar:

The one thing i cant stress the most is when people throw safes when he is not dizzy. Like joe said just start on goons, the crane is crazy so its not your computer if u cant keep it steady. GL to the bunch of ya!

Actually I may not have Granny's bucks that fast either. Maybe next week would be better... I had to restart twice today.

I'm surprised that not many people here know how to operate a crane. I can be a stomper or craner. I prefer crane just to perfect my grabbing and throwing but if the situation demands it i can stomp. With random people i usually run into the situation where newer CFO toons want to be on the crane and throw stuff around. The good crane operators cant do their job and it's utter chaos once the red goons come out. I find to be efficient in damaging, I keep a safe between the crane and the CFO. That way once i stun him or he gets stunned, i got a safe right in front of me to throw at him.

And I prefer the safes behind me. We all have our way of doing things. That's why when I teach someone, I just throw them on the crane and watch them for a while. I usually make em throw one goon successfully then end the session so the goons don't get to be the REALLY big red ones that take -30.

Best instruction I have seen in a long time! Thanks! I will try that on my next CFO.
I also learned that in order to throw the goon, you have to pull the crane toward you (down arrow), then aim it at the CFO, then use the up and down arrow to get a good swing and throw the goon! It's not an easy task to learn. Sometimes I'm still not so good at it, but if it gets too rough, I jump off and let some one more experienced take over.

Have a great night!
Happy 4 day weekend!

Last time there was a free crane I tried throwing goons, but they always seemed to glance off and do no damage. Where exactly do they need to hit, the chest? the face? I've figured out the swing to throw with, but my aim still stinks....

For those of you who are voice capable, I do boss training runs on Teamspeak (VP, CFO, CJ, CEO, factory, mints, DA, CGC and more...) I think I have a great team with me and anyone can tell you that boss battles have no secrets for me LOL

Voice trainings are alot easier since talking things through is alot faster then typing. PM me if you want more info.

The only thing is, Teamspeak is for ''adults only'',
due to some of the language we use :cursing:
