Cavern of the disgarded drops?

Does everything that is tossed into a trash barrel end up in the cavern? Or is there a "failure" rate or "success" depending on how you phrase it of items ending up there? I "as an experiment" placed about 100 communication crystals into various trash cans. Yet I only saw about 8 show up. Is this normal? Thought that folks would like to know. and are there trash cans where nothing will show up? Just wondering. enjoy

Look in Ask The Devs ... there are some things that never make it there. Someone else asked and it was answered ... sort of.
