Catskills Militia - Something different! - 3/29/09

(Sorry about the late notice, but it's the best we could do!)

This weekend's event will be something different than usual; we'll be doing PvM this week. We'll be meeting in Chaos, Ilshenar and making our way to Honesty, working together to fight whatever is in our way.

Since it's a different type of event, we're allowing some changes to be made to the rules. Mages will be permitted to wear GM-crafted armor with LRC (still no other mods), and mounts will be permitted.


* Our main rule: Wear only items crafted with normal crafting tools. No Artifacts, no runic-crafted items, no magic mods (other than LRC), no jewelry, no talismans etc.
* As these items can easily be replaced, you don't even need to insure them.
* Due to fairness and balancing, powerful pets are not allowed (for example, no Greater Dragons, no Rune Beetles, or 5 animals with pack instinct). If you want to bring pets, please get a permit from the event organizers first.
* Looting other players is not allowed.


Please head over to the Chaos moongate around 1:45 PM EST tomorrow, Sunday, March 29, so we can get ready to head out. Hope to see you then!

Sorry for posting so late. I was away for the weekend.

We will make an Ilshenar roundrip with GM-made equipment. You may use items you find as monster loot to improve your equipment, if you can.

The route:

• We'll start in Montor, at the Chaos moongate.
• We'll follow the road south through the desert.
• We'll pass the Citadel island and head south until we reach the Spider Cave.
• We'll take the road southwest past the Enchanted Forest and the Champ Spawn area.
• We will visit Lakeshire.
• We'll follow the road winding through the mountains until we reach the Justice moongate.
• We pass Mistas, cross the river and head north.
• We will visit the Ratman Villa and follow the road north.
• We will cross the Poromir Harm by the fort at Gwenno's Memorial.
• We will then travel through the mountains by taking the Pass of Kranaugh.
• We'll then head back to Montor.

At the onset it was a bit rough...everyone seemed to go in their own different direction...at least that is what it seemed like to me. Kinda like "herding cats" was what I heard one of our party members utter.

The large part of us began to fall into line, and start to "cluster" a bit better though. Some picked up items from the fallen monsters as we went. We even had a tamer, that at one point nabbed a drake.

Sadly though we lost comrade after comrade to the dreaded curse of "RL". And in the very end...Only three remained.

Very near the end I died. And decided it best not to go back for my body. It was then that Calico Jake, and Hawkeye Pike emptied the few extra items they had in their packs for me to use. I donned the tricorn hat, war fork, leather sleeves and a gorget...eventually Calico even nabbed me some pants to "hide my shame" and a pair of boots.

The glow of the moongate welcomed a battered and bloody party of three. I had an absolute blast. I saw places I've never seen before.
