Castle Ladder at entrance?

try changing the number of ingots and then place the stool again (as much as 5 or more ingots) I used square goza (east), raise the goza up the same number of times as the number of ingots and replace the rune on top of the goza. target rune when placing the castle ladder.
Hmmmm I just tried and got it going first time.
Can somebody confirm, if this still works with the above trick and I am only too untalented to realize the description?
Either the Must be in your house or the Adjacent unpassable tile notifications are blocking placement for me, depending from the height.

i was on my ipad a couple weeks ago lurking on facebook and i saw a post on my wall from Ultima Online and it gave a detailed description on how to do this as well.

for interest sake i went a tried this at my keep that didnt have a ladder on it.
i was able to do it the first crack but only with a keep ladder.
which dosnt let me access the house, the ladder is too short.
it wont let me place a castle ladder, get that canned speech about not being in house ect ect ect.
ill try it again when i get home and ill mess around with the goza height and more ingots and such.

Ok, I got help from a player on Drachenfels.
It still works as follows:
1. put a rune to the stairs (no lock down needed)
2. target goza mat on the rune.
3. raise goza mat 3x
4. stack 5 single ingots in front of the rune/goza mat on top of each other
5. put the foot stool on the ingots (looks like into the gap between rune and ingots)
6. put the rune on top of the goza mat (no lock down needed)
7. place castle ladder nord targetting the rune.

I just placed one at my Castle front door and it took me a whole 60 seconds. Looks like this is no longer a problem and just as easy as it ever was
The below still works in 2018 
Just placed a ladder infront of my Castle! SO NICE!!!
1. Put a rune to the stairs (no lock down needed)
2. Target goza mat on the rune.
3. Raise goza mat 3x
4. Stack 5 single ingots in front of the rune/goza mat on top of each other (On ground infront of stairs/mat)
5. Put the foot stool on the ingots (looks like into the gap between rune and ingots)
6. Put the rune on top of the goza mat (no lock down needed)
7. Place castle ladder nord targetting the rune.

Nice instructions! Only sounds more like exploiting a bug to build outside normal limits than some intended game mechanicsThe below still works in 2018

faster entry into your house, specially if your coming and going 30 times a night.
and doubly so if your in fel and have neighbors that are frisky.
Well... after I found this thread and the items needed it only took me 1 min to place the ladder
As Poo says... its really SO much easier to enter your castle... and I was used to it on my old Fel castle and really wanted it also on the tram castle I just got.
You can basicly RUN up the ladder and packies will follow you up also.
