Castle Basements......

As long as castles have thier storage double that of 1 18x18

I used to be against increasing storage or smaller houses, but the hardware should be able to handle it and plenty of folks have been cleaning out their houses and bank accounts for the ongoing cleanup as well as unraveling.

I doubt they would want to add new footprints, but adding additional floors for certain sizes, and bumping up storage on some house sizes might open up a lot of options for folks.

Then again, I said in one of the threads yesterday, I thought a lot of the IDOCs would be smaller houses and that it was weird that so many people have kept little houses on my shard when I can easily fill up a few books of 18x18 spots on my shard.

UO doesn't have the technology to instance basements. They don't even have the technology to instance instances (which is why there's multiple copies of each "instance" sitting around -- it fires you into a different static version of the instance.

Instead, as others have suggested numerous times, and I definitely support, there should be different designs within the same footprint. Why they haven't done this yet is beyond me, but it definitely would help diversify the castle and keep community. Particularly since there's so many of them now.

When players asked for assistance for customized shards like Siege Perilous players complained that developers time should not be focused on a small playerbase so either like it or leave that shard ...

When players asked for a Classic Shard some players complained that developers time shouldn't be focused on this idea as only a segment of the player base was interested ...

So why should developers valuable time be used to accomodate a small percentage of players who own castles in this instance ??
