I still miss it. Was a very, very fun aspect to infect things. Seriously enjoyed the Blackrock infecting.

I don't think I was around for the main event but during the Moonglow thing where you could travel through the gate into the Void you could things to spawn that were Blackrock Infected. I got 2 Blackrock Infected Chests recovered from a Dark Wisp. Pretty neat. Would be cool to have some kind of mini Blackrock event again. I think I have 10 pieces left, I don't do much mining lol.

I miss it too. Blackrock infecting monsters and collecting the chests was one of my all time favorite things in UO. I really wish they'd turn it back on and leave it on.

So do I! Was soo much fun.

I should tell you this story... my old guildmates will probably hate it... but here goes.

So ... we are RPing and decide that we need to be doing something constructive... so one of our group makes up a story of being kidnapped and in need of rescue ... and where are they being held? Down in the bottom of destard of course with the Ancient Wyrm... So I round up a party and we go down there to "rescue" her... and we begin hunting a few Ancients... Well as with Destard we kill one and then we are running back and forth looking for the next one.... and I run into the back room and accidentally infect the Ancient.... I run back out... and all I can say is..... Um... Oops.

And they are all like... "Oops what?".... as the shadowy looking Ancient comes out of the back room and proceeds to destroy the entire party...

All I could do was laugh.

And they are in vent going... "Willa... are you carrying blackrock on Malag?" I giggle... "Of course.... Malag always has a piece in his bag"... I felt so bad but yet... that battle killing that Ancient was awesome!.... Took us about 10 min is all but it was a very fun 10 min... I placed the chest on display at the Castle of our "Victory" over the Ancient Shadow Wyrm...

so very fond memories of fighting them... I've blackrock infected all sorts of things... and enjoyed every moment of it. From Balrons to Ogre Lords... It was a fun trip.... Now I heard on one shard someone blackrock infected Sudiva.... that had to be fun... I think I blackrock infected some major things... other than just the ancient... I know I did a few things down in Doom... what a trip...

Truth is Blackrock turned even the most boring trips into a surprise excitement... Doing my patrols just isn't the same without the occasional blackrock infected bird trying to kill me...

Drop by my house i have over 100 bits outside, youre welcome to it. I have 300+ bits inside, which i will keep but the stuff i mine up now just get dropped outside my home.

I have to agree that the BRI Chest are a true collectable that has no reconition. Something that has to truely be earned like a Paragon rare ore eli chest. Paragon Valorite Eli is no joke.

My Oops was on my tamer. When the GD first seen light. Was watching a two tamers by the Fire Temple trying to tame an Uber GD while on my Archer Tamer. The GD would go on a rampage on a fialed tame and would sometimes invis. Yes besides spawning a monster can get infected coming out of an invis. After a long grind and many deaths my Pally Archer Tamer with a Cu killed it. No Chest. As bad as it was fighting the desire for a chest made it worth trying over and over.

The BR does still mine up. I just wish the BR Eli still spawned. Sure they are a pain. Knowing some script miner maybe having a mindless worse day was a good feeling. Bring back the BR and give it an area effect like fire demons or lava snakes. Also the BR return would need a unique random loot even if deco.

Before the "Not in the story line" side thread starts. The whole BR thing worked as long as they had no turn in that rewarded scripting.

I just wish the stuff was stackable: I have a chest full of it in my house from mining. W/my old monitor he had to strip naked to tell if he had any in his pack (each b.r. weighs one stone) and then poke around the Inventory bag for awhile to find it all. My new monitor is bright enough that I can see it now.

I never could tell if carrying more than one piece increased the chances of a mob going nuts around a character. Would have likedl to infect everything around the West Bank of Britain some evening just for fun.

While it wasn't Brit bank, I carried blackrock at both the Magincia and Moonglow events. The times that a blackrock infected version of one of the tougher monsters would spawn were some of the best to be had at either invasion. I've got several of the rarer box types from these invasion monsters on display in my house for anyone that cares to come take a look.
