Can't Bless myself

Ok, I cannot figure this one out. I cannot cast 'bless' on one of my characters. He can bless pets and other players but not himself.

Maybe that char is Catholic and can only be blessed by a priest

I've tried both. I have a macro set to bless myself and I have the "Bless" spell in a hotbar. It doesn't work on 'cursor' or 'current' or 'stored'.

I've taken all armor and clothing off still can't bless myself. I've cast all the usual lasting spells on myself just in case I had some lasting effects from one.

One thing I'm pretty sure about is that this started after I changed him into and elf a few days ago.

Hmm, you probably tried this I assume, but to be sure, you tried killing your character right? Otherwise I can't think of anything else at the moment.

The person who blessed you has higher eval.

Do you happen to have 0 eval? My tamer, back before I put eval on him, could not bless himself.

It sounds possible considering you could do it while human with JoAT and therefore 20 eval, but now you can't.

Yes I have 0 Eval. That must be it. It's pretty dumb that the spell "fizzles" instead of just being really ineffective.

Yep, that was it. I put on some jewels and was able to cast Bless on myself. That's pretty dumb the way that works.

try it without the jewelry and use a scroll
IF it also works ... with 0 Eval, likely to be as useless(low effect) as before.

Nope, fizzles from a scroll too. Anyways, I don't need to cast bless on myself, I just couldn't figure out why the heck it fizzled 100% when cast upon myself but I could cast on anyone else and pets.
