Magery may have 64 spells, but day-to-day, 90% of them go unused.
I see these spells used on a daily basis:
G.Heal
G.Cure
E.Bolt
Flamestrike
Explosion
EV
Resurrection
Protection
Curse
Bless
The rest notsomuch. They are there, but are mainly used for very specfic limited purposes.
As far as damage goes, magery sucks. The damage output needs to be upped to be more in line with the other casting skills, and with the high output abilities of melee skills.
I'd rather see them balance damages rather than rework the skills, each combat 'class' should be roughly the same.

Magery is better and fielding and xhealing/grouping, but has casting time and a lil lower damage output, but with more abilties at their disposal including summons.
Necromancy Kinda like magery, damage output is even lower in favor of curses and forms
Mystic, Can't say, never used it. Seems kinda like magery with some twists thrown in.
Melee, High damage output, high defenses vs weapons, no range.
Archer, High damage output, no defenses, relatively slow weapons.(Somethings should be removed though, at least for PvP I spose.)
All classes are relativly flexible so I don't see what your beef is?
I don't think damage is the problem, I think it's more of people running, and you wont be able to fix that by increasing damage. That would warrant a revamp of skills which is the very thing you're arguing against.
