god ,and every time someone asks me to decorate their place i have to find a spot BIG enough for this HUGE soulforge. (+ all the theme rooms they requested)

Can we have a smaller version of a soulforge please? (sort of like a small forge).

Break it up. You only need 1 small piece of the forge for it to work.
Of course you gonna have to have some room to break it up initialy.

I have asked this question both in Mythic testing forum and later in the 'ask the devs' section. Both got no reply so you can imagine how high on their 'when we can be bothered' list it is.

How do you break it up? If you have a classic small how can you even place one with out putting all you stuff outside?

The housing forum has the steps using goza mats. I've only had to do it twice before am not much of a decorator. Though a classic small I don't know you might just have enough room to place it and use the goza to break but definetely never tried something that small. Housing forum migjht have the answer. Though It would be nice if they had a smaller version though I don't think we will see that anytime soon.

Imbuing is easy enough to acquire as it is. Something as powerful as imbuing shouldn't be on par with basic level crafting skills, like blacksmithing or tailoring (which require 1 and 0 housing lock downs, respectively).

Frankly, if you want the power to customize your item attributes, then you need to sacrifice a few lock downs. Or buy a bigger house. If you only want a soul forge for decorative reasons, that's what the small deco soul forges are for.

It will work on a small house. 7x7 is the small footprint and it takes up 5x5. I have one on top of a small on a grandfathered account. You have to break it up so that one of the "forge" pieces is still there. They are the actual parts needed for imbuing.

Ah found it on the forums...sadly this only applies on the top floor...

I doubt my friend would want it on top of one of his castle roofs....

I have to deco lino's keep aswell...i'll be forced to put it on his roof to chop it up and hide it with trees.

3x3 would be a bareable size...2x2 would be even better.

It's not for myself..
wanted to combine it with a forge and an anvil , since everyone wants those near aswell.

There is a "small" soulforge in the blacksmith shop just a few steps from the Ter Mur soulforge. Go in and take a look next to the normal forge/anvil.

I would love to have one of these as an option for my house instead of the oversized full soulforge.

yeah the only way around is goza mats...but that's for rooms without a roof...

For classic houses that means you can only break it up in pieces on your roof...

Although i might used this method on lino's roof and cover the remains of the soulforge up with trees.

I thought I was stuck with a roof thing too, not so. My soul forge consists of one anvil.

I went into customization mode, after moving a few things on the second floor....removed 12 tiles, 4x4.......commited.

Set 12 gozas, in a 4x4 position under the hole in ceiling....raised them just once to check n see if I was lined up....no, I had to move them once to the right or left, I forget.

Tried again, cool....it works.....raised them all about 4 times.

Here's a trick, because you cannot see the goza to lower it with your deco tool....I had to use UOassist, and previously made a macro to lower one certain goza mat (lower right)

Macro is easy....set to record, do it about 4 times, then in the menu, click on where it says menu selection, ( I think thats what it said) either way, add a pause, I did 1100.

Once the goza went down, I saw a section of the soulforge drop as well, then I went to choppin and left the far left anvil.

Warning.....If you do chop your forge and ever want to decorate in Customization mode.....LOCK that section of your forge down before you go into custom mode, or it WILL go poof.

I found out the hard way doing granite counter tops.

The crafted soulforges are way too stinkin big and there's not a single reason why it needs to be that big. A size of 2x2 would be much much more reasonable.

If you are really serious about imbuing you will want to invest the time in earning the right to use the Queen's forge. It is definitely worth it.

And this would be the reason real problems never get fixed is because the devs are more worried about cosmetic garbage or valentine eye candy...

well tbh, the size is not so bad, if it wern't for the looks...the soulforge is so darn ugly, and dosent really fit into any style except for the SA tileset.

They don't need to make anything new there is all ready a small soul forge graphic and i very much doubt that the devs that draw the graphics are the same ones that write the code.

Maybe they're saving the small soulforge as something to add to the lineup of veteran rewards.

I don't know if anyone said this yet, but, a soul forge in your house is only good if you aren't 120 yet. It's the best way to train because it is the worst forge you could ever use. If you want to unravel stuff, you lose resources by using house forge. It's better to use town forge or queen's forge for unraveling, and better to use either when you make items you're going to actually use.

In other words, find someone who has a public forge in house is my advice, use it till you get 120, then be happy you never had to waste your house space at all with a thing that becomes worthless once you hit 120.

What G.v.P says is pretty much dead on, but. Using the city forge or the Queen's forge only gives a very slight increase in success chance for imbuing. It's really most useful when imbuing anything that requires relic fragments. At least for me, any other basic ingredients are expendable. I don't care if I fail 20 times with an under 10% success chance. You never lose the special ingredients so. For unraveling, I always use the Queen's forge.
