Im not going to get deep into this, but pets have ALWAYS been used in PvP

If it wasnt countless dragons, it was frenzieds, if it wasnt frenzieds it was imps, if it isnt imp its ww's, then beetles, then GD's

It will continue. Its a never ending cycle, just like the nerf this nerf that argument.

I have a tamer of course, current uo almost dictates you must! Do i have a problem with a damage cap on Firbreaths? No

do i have a problem on a 35cap for single hits? NO

do i have a problem with casting rules? NO althoug i dont truly see the problem with this on its own.

Do i see a problem with speedhacking disarm bleed movnig shot with double balanced hit spell? YES.

Do i have a problem with speedhacking/client modding anyones? YES

Personally, id rather see the cheats fixed before pets, then there would be less need to use them.

If I could actually keep up with people(within reason, lag of course affects) I wouldnt need a pet that can cast on the run and throw a firebreath a screen away to keep up for me!

I agree pretty much with everything in your post Rich. The key being that any balances(which are greatly needed) are irrelevant without fixing the cheats. Balancing things goes 1 step forward but because of the cheats things go 2 steps back because some new template that isnt all that overpowered will become overpowered with the cheats.

Lol apparently you have never ACTUALLY been hit by a GDragon.. with all 70s the damage is definately NOT a 24-33 base.. its not even 24-33 after resists... those numbers are wrong.. if that was the damage their wouldnt be a problem.

Yeah, casting on the run, bleeding without using mana, having almost unlimited mana pool, 60 damage free firebreath, casting with no regards to FC/FCR rules.... yeah your right these arent even things that would have an effect on PvP if players could do them....

Your right... exact same... BUT for those skill points the dragon gets 30-40+ melee hits, 60hp firebreath, bleed attack, no FCR/FC restrictions, casting on the move etc... THATS where its unbalanced...

Uhh yeah.. your dont need maxed out skills... when your not doing ALL the damage, you mentioned 400 skill points left.. you used 440.. so with 440, 110 mage, 110 eval, 110 parry, 110 resist.. make you human thats 3 MR base, + MR from items which any decent suit has... again you are assisting the dragon.. all you need to do is add a little dmg, or exlo, or para, stone wall do yoru drag can hit.. that 440 would give you decent chance to pary, take care of your resist prolbme with mana vamp and para... and give you enough mage to 100% cast 7th level and enough eval to pierce resist good enough to help. Again, you just arent thinking hard enough because you are trying to make your own point valid.

Keeping in mind that the SCALE stays the same. You have a GDragon takes 5 slots and has 150 HPS.. thats about 30 HPS per control slot. So if you use 5 frenzied .. ill even give you 100 parry... they each get 30 hps to stay consistent...still happy with that???

You still see want to be OP.. you say "ok ill take what you said" and then assume each of your frenzied will have 100+ hps with all the new damage caps I talked about.. you want all the benefits of lower damage but not give anything up in return.. typical...

So yeah take your 2 drakes.. they have about 60 HPS each sicne they are a 2 control slot mob...

Again its all strategy.. 5 frenzied will take people out FAST but they'll die in about 1-2 sucessful hits..but you have to kill 5 of them.. checks and balances..
First Whirlwind doesn't need to be used on them each individually lol. Thats a one shot deal.

But yes, I did neglect several things a GDrag can do that a player can not such as casting while moving etc. Thats my bad.

As far as the penalties, I was under the impression you meant they applied to me. Pets HP is dropped to 150 I can understand but dropping my drakes HP to 60? Does this mean your going to allow them to hit the 120 skill cap or allow them to hit player max resists?

I have a bushido chiv archer, I am simply use to GDrags not being an issue in PvP. Not the end all be all template, I win against some templates lose against others. One I tend to win against is Tamers. So I guess I don't see a huge issue with the GDrags considering how easy I can deal with them it's hard for me to see others having an issue. Tamers are toast without a pet and the pets are not hard to deal with. Decreasing the dmg potential of the GDrag and leaving my dmg against them as is means the tamer simply has no chance. Lowering the Gdrags HP means the tamer has no chance. I have templates I struggle against, yours seems to be tamers. If you are calling for balance though, gonna need to be done on all sides and not just against a particular pet. Every change effects multiple things. You call for a nerf, then I call for a nerf, then he/she calls for a nerf. Each nerf simply shifts the problem to someone else. Thats my whole point.

I've been saying that exact same thing for the better part of the last decade.

The Devs #1 priority every day they walk into work should be to remove the cheaters. Unfortunately though, removing the cheaters is not even in the top 100 of their "to do" list.

The only reason I check in on UO from time to time is my hope that one day I will see some sort of PunkBuster/Warden program added which, at the very least, will remove all the script kiddies who's only PvP related skill involves downloading illegal 3rd party programs.
