Can someone answer a quick question?

Apparently Stratics mods cannot read. I asked a simple question and hoped for a simple answer.

If I have been banned for 24/hr (regardless of the reason), is that ban hard and fast at a 24/hr interval? Or do I have to wait until there is some server reset flag (i.e. wait until the next server up). The answer to that question would directly affect my next course of action.

While my responses to my original post (now locked) may have been esoteric, I thought it provoked a genuine response from a variety of players. I was non-confrontational. I even applauded other player opinions, even if I was a bit glib at times.

In the end, I had timely and new information on my ongoing issue. I needed a quick response for it. If Kelmo had bothered to check his/her clock, s/he would have realized that EA Customer Support is now closed and I have very few options to get an answer. Instead, I was cut off from an ongoing discussion based on a whim.

Thank you petty Stratics mod for completely misinterpreting my request for information and forcing an active line of discourse to be closed.

When I am tired from fighting and dying, I invis people at the bank. Its funny to see Luna full and in a few seconds, you see no one. Then someone walks up and says something about how empty the bank is.

Ive never been told to stop.

Once in a while Ill get someone to invis me or polymorph.

Someone does not like you.

I'd have to agree with you! I read your last thread and understand exactly where you were coming from about the thread being locked. Why do they lock a thread discussing a reasonable question about UO and the GM's. It was a simple discussion, no trolling that I could see as I was glancing over the replies, nothing "bad". I'm sure you were frustrated and upset about the ban and were hoping to only get some answers as to why what you were doing was a "bannable" act. The point wasn't whether if what you did was right or wrong, but a simple question as too why you got banned for what you did. The opinions of those who replied were info that I found helpful and entertaining to say the least.

Countless times have I had my threads locked. Countless times have I been banned here on stratics. And most of the time, its for things that follow the guidelines and rules set by Stratics. All in all, there are particular mods that do take their "power" a bit over board. I'm not saying Kelmo did this, as I have not dealt with him before, but there are those type of mods out there. Stratics is a great website, but the website could be easily improved if they had staff that cared about the website and the visitors enjoyment more than enforcing rules and suspensions that they shouldn't even bother with.

My opinion?

Your thread should not have been locked. It was a simple discussion. It had no info or details regarding any illegal program or script. It was a simple question and discussion.

But remember, it's all about the power. Let them take control, be powerful, and sleep at night.

--Stratics, read the opinions of us once in awhile and try to improve the website. This is just one of the many things that could make Stratics much, much better.

BTW ever since tram at least, its been illegal to invis someone unless they ask for it.

And yes, previously mentioned, it isn't allowed unless someone asks for it for some reason. But I don't see why you bothered opening this thread again. Your ban will be up when it's up. Asking here wont solve anything. Just wait and see.

This thread will be locked again too, as you don't reopen locked threads. But to answer your question......

My understanding of it is 24 hours. For instance, you were banned for your mischievous deeds noon the 1st of October, the ban will be lifted noon the 2nd of October.
