I know this has been asked nigh on a half million times collectively, but seriously... it's time to fix the "language filter" that has no intelligence as to how it filters.

I'm not sure why it was necessary to apply a more restrictive naming convention that previously did not exist, but, in case anyone should try to deny that such has happened, I ran into an interesting thing this morning.

There are houses in the heart shaped grove between Britain and Yew... on Great Lakes (and most everywhere else as I believe), it is called Compassion Grove. The homes in that area all read "Blah Blah Blah - Compassion Grove." I was attempting to rename one of those plots...

Now I can't use the word Compassion.

Seriously.

UO, grow up.

Yes, you're right, Hannes... the devs did it on accident. Their hands just tripped over the keyboard and miraculously the filter got applied to the house signs when previously it wasn't.

I don't recall saying that they were immature. But please... don't mistake me asking them to correct a decision as me asking them to fix a bug. It's not a bug. Someone consciously applied the filter. I'm asking... again... that they remove it. Why again? Because I only encounter it every now and then, and when I do, it reminds me that it really SHOULD be removed, or at least the filter given a more strict ruleset on which by is applied (meaning stricter on the filter, not on the users).

And, uh... Hannes... I've been in their shoes, albeit it not on a game (yet). If what I said above offends them, they need new jobs... I wasn't impolite, I wasn't rude. If you don't like how I addressed it, your right.

But let me use some of your logic on you:

Oh, look, another unnecessarily back-handed post complaint on Stratics.

Every time we find someone who finds something amiss in the game, let's act like every word they said was completely trite and had no value or worth because they were OBVIOUSLY immature.

It's almost like you people are emotionally incapable of reading a post with a suggestion or reporting a bug without turning it into some overly weepy, quasi-dramatic commentary on the commentary.

I hope you're all reincarnated as forum software, with an insufferably humorless userbase who acts horribly victimized by every post that is made.

Or put another way... "Was there anything constructive at all in what you responded with?"

Ah. Now, you see, you can't do that. You can't fight fire with fire, you have to smother the flames in a nice blanket.
