Can anyone please explain this "highway system"?

I heard being a gargoyle allow you to use a "highway" system.
What is this?
Is there any post I missed that explain this system?
Can the highway system help my garg to get to underworld (place with all the essences) quicker?

in the gargoyle lands there are houses with sparklies on the roofs ! If a gargoyle is in flight and launches off of these you will begin flying over obsticles to the next house ! you can also leave flight path anywere along the path(that is legal that is not over water or in middle of mountain etc!
