Bushido Axe?

Hello
I have been working ABC Archer skills onto my crafter (on Siege) And while I think there is a %100 Damage Cap it is tempting me to try the following template:

Swords 110
Lumber 100
Anatomy 110
Tactics 100
Healing 100
Bushido 100
Parry 100

7GM -Old School!:)

(Human 255 stats/720 cap)

I could add some bling to get some skills a little higher.

Am I way out of line? I see that cooler heads suggest resist and/or chiv instead of LJ but a %30 damage bonus (plus the weapon and skill bonus) before any perfection is tempting. Lightening strike on a 65-75 pt opening hit sounds like a good deal.

Now that we can parry with two handed weapons the idea of a Bushido Axer appeals to me.

What am I missing? Do other templates get up to the damage cap so quickly that the 30% does not matter? Does investing the points in lumberjacking and giving up the 120 skill levels lose too much? It seems like the last 10-20 pts of a skill really only account for a couple of percent in effectiveness.

I took an eight year break so I might be wrong but I think it is only like 10% now isn't it?

As best as I can tell it is LJ/5 +10% for GM so 30% total. At least that is what I took from the threads on that question.

If it truly is only 10% that would be very sad. I will go on TC and see how it looks.

Lumberjacking DI can never justify the skill point cost.

Ornate Axe
Strength: 150
Tactics: 120
Anatomy: 120
Lumberjack: 20 (JoaT)
DI: 100%
You will do 72-80 damage with those stats.

Strength: 150
Tactics: 120
Anatomy: 120
Lumberjack: 100
DI: 100%
You will do 76-85 damage with those stats

axes arent ideal since they r 2 handed and u cant chug.....not worth the damage bonus if u ask me.....some of the choices of specials on axes are nice tho i have to admit

Ornates can be nice in PvP with LJ, especially if you have enough chiv to consecrate and your opponent has a weak resist or is corpse skinned. I've done 67 dmg crushing blows and 2 shotted people.

It kind of relies on someone having a flawed suit to be effective.

If they are all 70s damage is good but crushing maxes out at like 40ish which isn't bad but not the burst damage I typically look for.

The build I recently changed to is similar to the OP build, but 120 sword/tact/anat/bush. Healing at 90 and LJ at 100. Parry I manage to get to 102, and yes I'm using skill increase on the jewels to get them up there.

I put Bush/Parry on for defensive purposes because I kept getting moving shotted down by teams of archers. The nerve strike was also nice for when I had someone low I could nerve and switch to a crushing blow.

I would much rather be able to drop bush/parry and put on resist and med or resist/chiv.

Drop healing to 90 and that gives you 10 pts to put in swordsmanship.

im a big believer in resist spells. if you have access to one i would strongly suggest you use gladiators collar. the 10 hci allows you to use the aegis of grace which has +10 resist spells. 15 to skill on each jewelry and u only need 60 to gm.

i run this temp and am very happy with it

120 swords
120 parry
120 bushido
110 resist
100 tactics
100 anatomy
90 healing (enhance bandages for gm)
-------------------------------------
total 760

if i get a 120 resist scroll i'd probably drop anat to 90.

+ 40 to skill, 10 on head and 15 each brace/ring

he wears;
aegis of grace
rbc
fey leggings
glad collar
conj trinket
quiver of infin
conj garb
imbued gloves
val hammer sleeves
crimmy

he is 70 dci and 45 hci with conj and 50 ep
9 mr
31 lmc

this char is hard to kill as u can heal/confidence and pots.
close to 150 hp 60 mana and 140 dex with agil pots.

the key to the build is the glad collar. totally worth 30 mln imho.

What is real neat is disarming an archer 8 tiles away. Counter attack + disarm. You can do the same with nerve + counter.

The only problem is getting counter attack to go off. It doesn't seem as reliable as it was when SE was introduced.
