I get this type of occurrence at least once a day. Others have told me they are seeing the same thing. This happens after recalling from my ship to a fish monger. Also, after this happens and I recall back to my ship I am often stuck unable to take more than 1 step before freezing. I have to recall somewhere else to free my character.

A few minutes later after receiving a quest reward I traveled home to unload. While standing in my home (note my 2 parrots and 4 vendors) I got some messages from my ship's pilot. And no, my ship was not sailing and I was not using any macros whatsoever. My only interaction with the game at the time was dragging and dropping some items from my backpack.

Code:
Lightfinger: Sanctum Viatas - Sacred Journey
45o 11'N, 31o 0'W
Lightfinger: Sanctum Viatas - Sacred Journey
Dex changed to 123, started as 123
Dex changed to 136, started as 123
You see: Sally
You see: purdy the parrot
You see: William
You see: Sam
You see: Thomas
You see: buzz the parrot
You see: a cat
Ar, turbulent water!
Right
Aye aye sir.
Stop
Yes, sir.
Turn Left

Right
Aye aye sir.

Try closing your paperdoll and opening it again.
That should "resync" you, and if I understand the nature of the problem you're having, it should fix you.

the only corruption I get is pieces of shadow left on the ground which goes away when I move over it, just since last patch

I'm also getting rain/snow inside Trog dungeon, inside Tomb of Kings, and inside the Queens castle in Ter Mur

I agree it's a sync problem. It's the type of thing you run into with packet loss. What is baffling are the pilot's responses to commands that I *appear* to have sent but didn't. And not only the replies but the timing of the replies. The server was fully aware I was in my home dragging and dropping items. Those actions require server/client communication as does the loading of my home and it's contents. Yet the server was still sending gibberish. It's like the server was out of sync with itself.

People are reporting laggy servers. Recently east coast servers were experiencing packet loss caused by an intermediate router. The router issue seems to be fixed but the laggy server symptoms persist.

was just fighting the Trogs a few ago, got 4 in a row, empty, exc for no-draw tiles. clicked & reclicked, same - after a couple(2-4) minutes they all had loot - sounds like server lag to me too

I always get pieces of buildings and stuff where they're not supposed to be after fishing for a few hours, it's a client sync thing that's happened since high seas. You can see destroyed ships sometimes too that don't actually exist.

What is being described is not a new problem - in fact, it's a VERY OLD problem. It is a not a corruption, but is a bug - one that has been extremely rare since the first few years of UO.

Essentially, if you recall from a MOVING ship, you have a high chance of being "blackholed".

You either end up seemingly frozen at the point of arrival, or find yourself surrounded by black screen.

99% of the time you aren't actually frozen, but can still cast and (sometimes) move, so recalling to another spot will fix this issue, then you recall back to your original target.

the other 1% (and this also happens on rare occasions crossing a server line), you end up truly frozen (sometimes with the graphics frozen at the point of departure, instead of the arrival point), and you have to log out or restart the client (if so frozen you can't even access the button to log out).

Then there is EC or CC

I have gone EC. Constant crashes that just happen at anytime and hard to find a common ground. Crashing and relogging and can't interact with beetle. Sailing and all of a sudden I'm at the front door of the Keep and beetle still on the moving boat. Keep belongs to another of my accounts. The waypoints that have been deleted or added reverted to login start when crashed. Water eli I ditched being picked up when I return back through stuck to side of boat till killed. When mouse guiding a ship cannot cross a server, just bounce back over line and shuffled along to cross again.

Battle all this to get to a docks that are blockaded by the children of UO. Or your the only boat at a dock and a player recalls in and hear quest completion sounder. Even at Papua.

The weirdest is when you become frozen yet everything else on your screen moves freely.

If anyone gets bored on their boat though, open up a moongate while sailing ... the way boat movement works, the gate must load before you do, and so it'll push you through to the other side of the gate lol ...

Basara, the issues I am having are NOT an old bug. This is new and was introduced with High Seas or one of the subsequent patches/publishes. Reread my first post. Nowhere did I say I was recalling to or from a moving ship, because I am not.

Also, you are wrong about it's rarity. Again read my post. This happens EVERY day. I cannot reproduce the circumstances at will, but I am guaranteed to see this at LEAST once per fishing adventure, which is generally an hour or less of playing time.

This is not the 'blackhole' of old. It MAY be a new manifestation of problems in the code related to the old 'blackhole' effect. One similarity is that it usually occurs when my ship is near a server line. With the old 'blackhole' you could often find yourself there just by crossing a server line.

I'm sure some of you will remember that the old server line blackholing was one of the first ways dupers discovered to mass dupe items. I hope this will not lead to that again.

Wow - all that denial of what I said, just to agree with me...

It is the old Blackholing, caused by a new bug within HS. As I said.
It was rare prior to HS, and common now. As I said.

I think the only disagreement in the whole matter is that you claim it can happen from a stationary boat, when I've not seen it happen from anything other than a moving boat. I will admit that it happens recalling from a moving boat to the vicinity of a Fish Monger (which means a recall from point to point on the same sub-server) much more often than it does recalling elsewhere (across subservers).

Labeling things as old bugs probably doesn't do us any favors in getting them fixed.

Only graphical issue I get is occasionally my screen refreshes real quick, like blinks, only UO that does this, no other app or game.
