BUG ? Tillerman doesn't navigate map well anymore??

I have a plotted map with about 10 locations, which was plotted a month ago or more. The tillerman will no longer sail southeast, southwest, northeast, northwest. They will only sail north-south then east-west or vice versa. Which imposes a problem when trying to sail around land. My tillerman also doesn't seem to be able to find the way point once a server boundary is crossed, instead only keeps sailing forward past it.

I haven't tried making a new map. Has anyone else encountered this?
