This morning I popped into Luna to buy a Conjurer's Trinket that I saw on sale for 10Mil. Although I purchased the item, it never came to my pack.
An initial GM support message was unhelpful to say the least. So I called EA. I have to say that my support experience for UO from EA has been very good so far. This was my second call. Special thanks therefore, for taking the time to look into my support call and being supportive go to the EA support staff I called.
The EA rep confirmed to me that the transaction took place, they found the record of my 10Mil purchase. Ea told me the item did not exist however and that therefore nothing was delivered to my pack. I don't really understand how this could happen. I was given a 20$ coupon and two legacy tokens in compensation. They explained that they cannot replace things in game.
I have to stress that this hits at the core of an economy. If you can't trust that an item will be delivered once purchased, you can't trust any vendor.
The support person encouraged me to post on EA forums as well as send an email to highlight the importance of this issue to UO developers. I will do so, but started here with my role play friends.
For the record, it was this vendor in Luna (Atlantic):
