Bring Back Bounties!

I was just tapping "random article" on another uo site and found myself cruising through some old patch notes from 1997. Which reminded me...

What ever happened to bounties? why did they get rid of such cool system?? and can we have it back please???

It was cool, but the problem was that the people with the bounties on their head just had their friends kill them, turn in the bounties and keep the gold for themselves. So putting a bounty on someone just meant you were practically giving the money to them.

As stated above. Bounties dont work. Yes cutting the head off would be cool to do again. But ingame bounties dont work. Now saying that, forum bounties work. If you look there was a thread by Soulweaver, where Papa georgio (or whatever his name was, diablo anyway), was hunted. Post a screenie of a legit kill, not friendly, if good, then money was paid. Also money was paid per faction item. So thats what can work.

I'm pretty sure it was taken out of the game when they opened the European shards because Germany has laws against cutting up human bodies.

Still, it would be awesome deco if you could cut off people's heads.

The problem was you could pk without being there (tinker traps) and keep your character safe from justice/accountability.

That's why players felt like they were getting ripped off.


You don't have to put up any money. If you feel that the money you're using would go to the wrong place, place your own bounty on their head and personally deliver it.

Honestly, I thought it was a fantastic system.

If you want human heads or any body parts for that matter do a harrower and pick them up off the ground.
Couldnt get any with names still good deco though
