Brand new character in the Abyss?

I'm an old player who hasn't played in several years. I'm wondering, if I choose to check out SA, would it reasonable to go there with a new character as a fresh start and practice skills once I get there, or will it be a death trap from start to finish?

The answer to that question is still covered by a non-disclosure agreement. They went into open beta today with the new client, but the expansion content is still secret!

I would say you need to build a char up some and get him/her outfitted with decent gear and weapons for a melee or build up some decent mana for a caster before I went into the Abyss with bad intent.

If you want to just roll around and take a look almost any char that is partially developed would do but expect to die often if you run into the wrong places.

Try not to accost the Slasher of Veils, he will ghost you quick.

On Stratics you can find posts about Rez points inside the Abyss (I can't find the thread at the moment) but your best bet is that if you are going to scout the Abyss you need to make sure your insurance on gear/weapons, ect.. is paid and that you have enough $$ in the bank to keep insurance for several deaths and not count on being able to get back to your body.

Good luck with it and have fun.

Once you get in there and start making a dent in some of the spawn you'll love it.

I agree. While some of the mobs aren't that difficult, an untrained toon will have a pretty hard time soloing in heavy populated areas.

I would recommend starting with a partner or at least having someone escort you (the first time) to one of the easier mob locations.
