An easy way to tell if it's a legit dye tub without a broker is to require the seller set the color of the leather tub to a neon hue, such as yellow, pink, green, or red. This will verify that it has the clothing dye tub color selection without the need of anyone surrendering their tub for examination.

If that isn't enough, you could insist they set it to access anyone in their house and allow you to test dye 1 item at which point you would be able to buy or trade for it once you have the itemID of the tub using methods I won't list just so you know it wasn't a bait n switch.

It would probably be a little more work for you this way, but if people don't trust leo or a broker they're not familiar with it would at least give them another option rather than passing it by if they had a tub for sale.

That's how I bought one last year from GL. Had em lock it in their house so I could set the color and test dye, got the ID#, and matched it with what was in trade window. Makes it alot easier not having to pay or rely on everyone trusting a 3rd party.
