there are a few good ways to get bone. One is the champ spawns at spirtuality. Killing the shadow wisps seems to be a common way. Also some use giant serps and gather the spined at the same time which is a nice way to do things. But as for doing a bone run my fav has got to be the horde minion spawn in fan dancers. There is a small room on lvl 1 with just 6-8 minions in it and with the proper equipment they are one swing kills. Not every one has bone but i seem to get between 3-5k bone an hour in there. GL

From the shadow wisps at spirituality I get 500-800 bones per hour. Same number from the shadow wisps inside the dreadhorn cave / twisted weald. You might want to look into the zombies in Haven.
But anyway in reply to the original poster... No the best way to get bones is NOT from skeletons. Dumb *&^% game.

If you're going for just bones, the shadow wisps or horde minions are good. Zombies are okay if you want to get other stuff (like trying to farm that Impaler guy in the Haven ruins to get the rare bone armor pieces).
If you need Spined leather AND bones, go to Destard, to the passage towards the lower levels, and farm the giant serpents for both bones and spined. I don't have the patience to kill the other stuff and get NOTHING from half of them, so I tend to go for the Serpents, so at worst I get the leather.
If you're a miner, and have a fire beetle, some people swear by the ant lion in the solen tunnels. You get the potential of multiple bone piles, possible bone containers (too bad they can't be cut up - come back for them if you want them), plus an amount of ore (dull copper to Bronze). Pile the ores up by color, and smelt them before you leave.
