This file is a means to Organize all the BOD point systems as they were originally described for Blacksmith and Tailor (where you add the different modifiers to get the final value), instead of the pre-calculated tables (Which currently have a number of gross errors, not the least of which are the repeated indications of many BODs being available in colored materials, when they are not).

The actual rewards are not listed in this thread, unless someone comes behind later to list them all in different replies.

Alchemy BODs

Alchemy BODs are relatively simple, having no Exceptional components, and no special materials to raise values. The only odd hitch are the Nexus Core small BODs, which are set up similar in value to a LBOD, and will be listed there.

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Nexus Core Small BOD: 100
Lesser Potions: 200
Regular Potions: 250
Greater Potions: 300
Explosives: 350
Toxic: 400

For LBODs, add the appropriate entries for sections 1 & 2 together.

Blacksmith BODS

The Actual system for Smith BODs is the following point system (taken from the official numbers at EA's old Support site from the early 2000s (long gone), and corrected for typos on EA's behalf):

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. Quality Bonus: Add 200 Points if Exceptional

3. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Polearm, Ringmail: 200
Chainmail, 6-part weapon (Sword, Axe, Mace): 300
Fencing: 350 *
Platemail: 400
* note that for the longest time, there was a typo on the site that had Fencing at 300, & the 6-part weapons at 350 - hence the errors on many old BOD charts (including Tower of Roses charts dating from 2003 to early 2006) for those weapons. Note also, that the point value of REWARDS (not BODs) was changed somewhere around late 2003/early 2004, so older reward lists were even less reliable. When researching Blacksmith and Tailor BODs, always make sure that you are looking at fan sites discussing the legal shards (as the old lists, errors and all, can still be found on the support sites for the illegal freeshards, tripping up those looking for the official information).

4. Metal Type
Iron: 0
Dull Copper: 200
Shadow Iron: 250
Copper: 300
Bronze: 350
Golden: 400
Agapite: 450
Verite: 500
Valorite: 550

The Point value of a given BOD is these 4 values added together, ranging from 10 points for a small iron 10-count BOD to 1200 for a Large 20-count Exceptional Valorite Platemail BOD.

Carpentry BODS

Note that most Carpentry BODs cannot be colored Wood (especially the ones for many of the larges), and that many of those (or their larges) might not be available as exceptional, or bugged to where they might result from a BOD collection as exceptional, but not able to be bribed to exceptional.

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. Quality Bonus: Add 200 Points if Exceptional

3. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Human Weapons*, Wood Furniture: 200
Cabinets, SE Armoire, Musical Instruments: 250
Large SE Chests: 300
Wild Staves: 350

* Only LBOD confirmed to drop in colored smalls and larges for all slots. The rest are all normal wood, or only have parts that can be all colors (the basic version of the Wild Staff can be oak or better, but none of the recipe wild staff BODs can be).

4. Wood Type
(Regular) Wood: 0
Oak: 300
Ash: 350
Yew: 400
Heartwood: 450
Bloodwood: 500
Frostwood: 550

The Point value of a given BOD is these 4 values added together, ranging from 10 points for a small wood 10-count BOD to 1000 for a Large 20-count Exceptional Frostwood Human Weapons BOD. Had the Wild Staves LBOD been able to be filled at Frostwood, it would have been worth 1150.

Cooking BODS

Cooking BODs are one of the more simple systems, having Exceptional quality smalls, but no Special Material point increases. The only real confusion in the system involves some of the items (like how to make exceptional flour, or the green tea for the BOD being made from a different type of green tea). And, the three most valuable exceptional LBOD categories are extremely difficult to fill without a high end (random chance) of the 410-point reward level (Apron) - which either requires turning in one of the lower end LBODs at exceptional quality, or one of those three difficult LBOD types at normal quality.

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. Quality Bonus: Add 200 Points if Exceptional

3. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Dough: 200
Unbaked Pies: 250
Barbeque: 300
Sweets: 350
Fruits/Magic: 400
Miso: 450
Sushi: 500

The rewards top out at 750, but the 750 point reward is very much a vanity item, as not everyone is going to want to use a cook/alchemist to create fruit wines. This is one of the few categories of BODs where there is little push to actually get the top-end reward.

Fletching BODS

Fletching BODs have some of the same issues as Carpentry BODs, just without the huge number of smalls that don't have a large. However, some of those larges are relative junk, as they cannot be colored Wood (despite the uo.com wiki claiming otherwise).

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. Quality Bonus: Add 200 Points if Exceptional

3. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Ammunition: 200
Human Bows*, Human Crossbows*: 300
Elven Shortbows, Elven Longbows: 350

* Only LBODs confirmed to drop in colored smalls and larges for all slots. The rest are all normal wood, or only have parts that can be all colors (the basic version of the two elven bow types can be oak or better, but none of the recipe-based elven bow variants' BODs can be).

4. Wood Type
(Regular) Wood: 0
Oak: 300
Ash: 350
Yew: 400
Heartwood: 450
Bloodwood: 500
Frostwood: 550

The Point value of a given BOD is these 4 values added together, ranging from 10 points for a small wood 10-count BOD to 1100 for a Large 20-count Exceptional Frostwood Human Bow or Crossbow BOD. Had either of the Elven bow LBODs been able to be filled at Frostwood, they would have been worth 1150.

There was also a bug with some BODs where the wood types went out of order (specifically Heartwood and Bloodwood), this appears to have been fixed. This may have played a part in the Crossbow LBOD bug ( which prevented some bribed BODs from being combined at the higher levels, especially Frostwood) that also appears to have finally been completely resolved (its fix, attempted several times since late 2016, appears to have finally "took" December 2017).

Inscription BODs

Like Alchemy BODs, these are relatively simple, having no Exceptional components (though, had they wanted, they could have had exceptional Book BODs easily enough), and no special materials to raise values.

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Level 1 Scrolls, Level 1-2 Scrolls: 200
Low-level Necromancy Scroll LBODs (2 different types): 250
Level 4 Scrolls, Level 5 Scrolls, High-level Necromancy Scrolls: 300
Level 7 Scrolls: 350
Level 8 Scrolls: 400
Books LBOD: 450

For LBODs, add the appropriate entries for sections 1 & 2 together.

Tailor BODS

Despite being the second-oldest BOD system, Tailor BODs are the "Ugly Duckling". One of the results is that the highest end rewards are MUCH easier to get than with any other skill's BODs (high-end runics, 50-charge Master Crafting Talismans, etc), as the points are concentrated in the LBOD point values, not materials or exceptional quality. As with the Smith BODs, the following point system (taken from the official numbers at EA's old Support site from the early 2000s (long gone):

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. Quality Bonus: Add 100 Points if Exceptional (all other BOD systems, with exceptional, add 200 points at this level).
Worse, while most BOD systems with exceptional BODs are 50% exceptional chance if that BOD can be exceptional, Tailor BODs are only 33% exceptional (1 in 3, instead of 1 in 2). This caused no end of confusion as 50% had been implied from before the system's launch, but was implemented with 1/3 exceptional, and never actually STATED as being 1/3 until around 2007-2009 (date depending on if you are looking at comments from a developer in a thread, or an actual official statement on an official thread).

3. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
4-part LBODs (8 different cloth LBODs, and the Footwear leather LBOD): 300
5-part LBODs (1 cloth LBOD, Studded Armor, Bone Armor): 400
6-part LBODs (Male Leather, and Female Leather): 500

4. Material Type*
Cloth: 0
(Regular) Leather: 0
Spined Leather: 50
Horned Leather: 100
Barbed Leather: 150

The Point value of a given BOD is these 4 values added together, ranging from 10 points for a small cloth 10-count BOD to 700** for a Large 20-count Exceptional Barbed 6-part BOD.

*Note that the BEST colored Leather type possible contributes 50 points less to the value than the WORST colored metal, and 150 less than the worst colored Wood.
** This should be 800, but the BODs are currently hard-coded to max out at 700, as that's the most valuable current reward level. Not that it matters (except for the yearly crafting festivals), as there are EIGHTEEN different larges that give 700 points (most would be worth more), and over 1 in 8 possible Tailor smalls will fit one of these. As such, getting a valuable (such as it is) reward is several magnitudes easier for Tailor than for any other crafting skill. No other skill using colored materials allows a BOD using the WORST colored material for the skill to get the HIGHEST reward - yet Tailor has TWO of them (Spined 20 Exceptional 6-part larges).

Tinker BODS

The Tinker BOD system simultaneously has the most useful non-runic rewards as well as the most fundamentally flawed point system (in terms of numbers of singleton smalls and BODs that won't raise the way that the official Wiki claims):

1. Count Points:
10 for 10-count BODs
25 for 15-count BODs
50 for 20-count BODs.

2. Quality Bonus: Add 200 Points if Exceptional

3. LBOD type (if an LBOD)
Jewelry (9 different sets, all limited to normal, and base iron): 200
Explorer's Desk* (Key Ring, Globe, Iron Key, Spyglass): 300
Crafting Tools: 350
Dining Set*: 400

* These are the only sets that can be made of colored materials. And, the only ones that can be made Exceptional currently (while limited to base iron, the Crafting Tools LBOD's PARTS can be exceptional quality, but the LBOD is limited to normal for some bizarre reason).

4. Metal Type
Iron: 0
Dull Copper: 200
Shadow Iron: 250
Copper: 300
Bronze: 350
Golden: 400
Agapite: 450
Verite: 500
Valorite: 550

The Point value of a given BOD is these 4 values added together, ranging from 10 points for a small iron 10-count BOD to 1200 for a Large 20-count Exceptional Valorite Dining Set BOD.
