I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but getting blessed originally wasp special because at the time there was no locking down or securing items in a home, and was done for ACTIVE player establishments. Some had items added to the outside areas of the house, but the concept was to reward player activity with something not ordinarily available.
If a player house goes inactive due to the player leaving and the account closing, then it decays and disappears, and the same holds true for houses that were "blessed". In that regard, player owned buildings that have been long abandoned and are no longer being paid for should have been transferred to a paying account or it should, in fact, fall blessed or not.
The Magincia story above should NOT have happened, but if one falls due to normal decay, then it falls and I'm not going to shed any tears over it.
Active player establishments should be protected by the players by making sure it's in good hands, inactive player establishments should NOT be protected simply because they USED to be active.
