Blessed buildings possibly in danger

It came to the attention of some good people on Sonoma that the YMCA was decaying. Luckily word got to Mesanna and she saved the building. So all should take note and ensure that blessed buildings on their own shards are safe and if not, should send word immediately to Mesanna to make sure that they be saved.

This is very encouraging news. There are people out on Atlantic checking what's left of the old buildings. So far so good.

It sounded like despite the YMCA being blessed, the reactivation of house decay set off the trigger since the owners account is inactive. But you have good news indeed. I don't suspect that this a widespread issue but wanted people to be aware just in case it's happening elsewhere and in the event that others do experience this they can report it asap and save the important buildings.

soon uo will be a graveyard tributed to players who have passed away.
Not very different from the real world, with our pyramids and ancient ruins left over from past civilizations. We'd miss them if they were forever gone. :)

For the Magincia event, the Devs asked for & were given extensive notes of all the blessed/seer buildings on all the shards.

On Europa, an error was made during the Mag event and our blessed/seer building in Felucca facet Magincia (Rilla's Gypsy Wagon) was destroyed.

Draconi intervened and with an apology he recreated it for us from screen shots I sent him during the event and he promised protection from further harm.

The protection seems to have departed with Draconi since the rebuilding of Magincia portion of the event once AGAIN destroyed our blessed/seer building. There's now a Magincia plot where our blessed/seer building once stood.

Despite further emails, Rilla's is gone.

If only to spare yourselves disappointment, do NOT rely on blessed/seer status to protect your unique buildings. Do not expect that they will always be there.

I hate to be the devil's advocate here, but getting blessed originally wasp special because at the time there was no locking down or securing items in a home, and was done for ACTIVE player establishments. Some had items added to the outside areas of the house, but the concept was to reward player activity with something not ordinarily available.

If a player house goes inactive due to the player leaving and the account closing, then it decays and disappears, and the same holds true for houses that were "blessed". In that regard, player owned buildings that have been long abandoned and are no longer being paid for should have been transferred to a paying account or it should, in fact, fall blessed or not.

The Magincia story above should NOT have happened, but if one falls due to normal decay, then it falls and I'm not going to shed any tears over it.

Active player establishments should be protected by the players by making sure it's in good hands, inactive player establishments should NOT be protected simply because they USED to be active.

In the case of the YMCA, that building has been used for numerous events and holds a lot of history along with some additions by EMs and I think a couple devs. It's been a special building on Sonoma even before tram. If it wasn't for decay being turned off/on it wouldn't have run into the problem in the first place.

This is my thought as well,we have 2 buildings on pacific like this, joes creb shack and some other place near yew fel. Maybe they could have an event or some contest to give it to an active acct.

See I don't see it that way. Things like the one GL's has already lost and the EM's and Mesanna helped to "preserve" mean an awful lot to many of us on GL's.

Kazola's is very well known throughout the lands and was somewhere where most everyone "back in the day" came to drink, talk and fight. When it fell even Kazola was surprised as she believed it to be on an account that was paid. NO ONE even it's owner expected it to fall but it did. Was a loss to the entire community. Thankfully Mesanna saw fit to preserve the site.

I see places like Kazola's, The Temple of Mondain and even Red Devils on GL's as historical sites with much of the history of the peoples of GL's preserved at them. To lose them is a tremendous loss to the community. Sadly I see you don't see it that way.

To me those buildings remain public and are for the public. They are as much a part of GL's as Castle British.
