I thought you couldnt use it unless you had done the quest? Was i missed informed?
Anyone can use the recipe (learn it first and then use it to make the stew). Since the Event is over, it would be necessary to get it from other players who got it during the Event.
By the way, how much are they selling on average ?
The ophidian cook is still there. Is there any way to finish gaining rep to get the quest?

Now you know why I posted for MEsanna to find a way to make a quest for it again more reasonable to get. Not everyone could reack up the points needed to get it or had the time in the RL to devote to UO.
Blackrock is everywhere, filling chests and streets roads and passes .... we need the recipy more available.

You mean a Blackrock Stew Recipe sells for 250+ millions ?
Hmmmm,...........................I have not learned the one I earned on Catskills at the past Bane Event yet and so, it "might" be available for sale if the offer is generous enough to match its rarity.

I have a couple chests of the stuff stashed away in the hope that gaining ophid points will one day be possible again so I can get that unobtainable recipe and make some stews for my hungry banes.
If the day comes it will take me a long while since I deleted my char that had 4700+ points to make room for a new char. Maybe one day I shall say "Ooops"

I have read the recipe on Siege and Europa. I'm not currently selling it on Europa, I assume there are other providers. I will make it if required.

Blackrock Stew was the reward of the Dragon Food quest that required 2,000 loyalty points towards Bane Chosen and given out by the Bane Chosen Bounty Collector for 20 crystalline blackrock during the first event activated with Publish 66.2 in June 22, 2010.
The Blackrock Stew Recipe is the reward of the A Dish Best Served Cold quest that requires 5,000 loyalty points towards Ophidians and given out by Scalis the Ophidian Cook for a Bowl of Rotworm Stew, five Small Pieces of Blackrock and the arms of a Terathan Avenger. It is activated with Publish 69 in December 16, 2010 and its still active.
Bane Chosen was around for more than seven months and after Publish 69 (December 16), Bane Chosen attacked more than 15 times to different towns on each shard for more than a month. And they kept spawning for 24 hours during the invasions. The quest and the invasions were already announced here in Stratics and that was the perfect time to increase your loyalty rating.
I think it is a good reward for the ones who fought against Bane Chosen during the invasions. However, I also understand the ones who say they didn't have enough time to increase their loyalty rating:
The loyalty rating was capped at 2,500 until Publish 69. So, even if you had killed thousands of Bane Chosen soldiers, there was no way to increase it to 5,000 points before Publish 69 which is needed to take the quest. Also, if you had chosen the Bane side before Publish69, you had to kill 5,000 Bane soldiers to at least achieve neutral loyalty towards Ophidians (while the loyalty was capped at +2,500, it was also capped at -15,000 instead of -7,500) and 1,000 more to complete the quest. Nobody knew the recipe would be available only to Ophidian side and a good guess was pointing towards the Bane side because of the previous Dragon Food quest offered by Bane Chosen NPCs.

Ive a problem.
I got the quest for the recipie. I have 10.000 points for the Ophidians and Im an Ally!
I got all the ingrediants: 1 "Bowl of Rotworm Stew", 1 "Terathan Avenger Arms" and 5 "A small piece of blackrock".
I toggled them as quest items and the sound told me im finished. But when i go to Salis he said: "I´m sorry, I have nothing for you at this time."
What´s wrong???

On what shard? ATL castles I'm pretty sure go for well over a billion.

I tried everything even called a gm. I was hesitant to cancel the quest because you can only do it once. Finally i said what the heck cant get it anyway and cancelled the quest, got the quest again and got my recipe.

You get them, surprisingly enough, off a dead terathan avenger - look like a dead plant.
Lake Austin has had the stew available in Luna and has at least a couple cooks.
Thx for the advice. I fear i have to do this as well!
"Silky" on Napa Valley can make the Stew. She also tends to drop craptons of Runes to her vendor around traffic areas every couple of days.

I collected all the items I needed, and tried to redo the quest on my character with enough Ophidian loyalty and who has already done the quest and passed it to my cook,(who can fill any requests for it on BAJA). I get the message "I cannot offer you the quest again". So it would seem this reward is meant to be rarer to get!

So why is it we can still toggle points between Bane & Meer??? This thing not over yet? Since the Bane are gone, why doesn't it raise Ophid loyalty by killing Meer - didn't it before?
If I remember correctly, killing Meer gained you Bane points.
Killing Ophidians gained you Bane points.
Killing Bane was the only way to gain ophidian points.

I think this is right because when I killed Meer's I got bane faction.... this was not thought out very well by the devs that's for sure
Oh I think the devs knew what they were doing on this.
Fighting for the "right side" was twice as difficult a fighting for the evil bane.
Plus it made it exceedingly difficult for those who decided to suddenly switch sides.
The way the devs did it made it possible to end up being negative to all three camps.

i killed 2 that i had tame and didn't get any points not sure if its because they where tame
