hello.
i'm quite new on ultima online. I want to be a pet tamer. A friend told me that pecemaking is a good skill. So my mucisian skill is 100% and my peacemaking skill too. My vetinary is like 40%, Animal lore 89%, animal taming 75% (show real)

what is for me the best way to tame an animal?
I tried to tame a Giant beetle, with peacemaking but that didn't work.
And anyone knows good places to tame animals? Mostly i am in/around delucia.

Use this page to calculate your success chance to tame a particular animal:
http://uo.stratics.com/content/skills/anim.php
You will want it the "0 pre-tame" box checked, as it represents a freshly spawned animal. Plug in your skill values and look for creatures that are between 40%-60% success chance. Those will be your best creatures to gain skill from. You will also want to set up a Use Skill-Last Target Macro for repeated taming attempts.

That page links to the Hunter's Guide entry for the animal, wich will give you the locations where they spawn, as well as their stats and skills.

Giant beetles need to be damaged into subjugation before you can start to tame them. You need to damage the beetle till it has only a little health, you'll get a message at the bottom of your screen telling you when the beetle is subjugated. If the beetle is on full health and you try to tame it, it won't work.

As a new tamer, you'll find some really useful info about the taming profession here and that page will explain how to use the tameable animals list to figure out what to tame as your skill increases and which pets you'll be able to control.

I'm not sure how familiar you are with spawn locations, so if you want to know where a creature spawns just click it's name on the page and that opens up the critter's details in the Hunter's Guide.

If you need more specific help though, you're in the right place so don't be shy asking questions ;)

Welcome to the wonderful world of taming! And don't worry about asking questions, no matter how much you know, there is always something new to learn, so the questions will continue for as long as you make Sosaria your home. :)
