i need to do max dmg at coon
this is a pvm not a pvp

so my sdi is 12+scribe+28 from book thats not alot when you think about samps

Mages don't do good damage against baracoon anymore, assumuing full sdi suit with spellweaving, a thrower or a sampire will kill it 2-3x faster.

also 18 lmc is rough.. you should try to shoot for at least 30lmc, 40 being cap and what you want to hit on every character if possible.

In order to hit the best sdi possible look back threw the posts on this page I know there was a thread going on about certain items for sdi. The best way to decrease your time killing the baracoon would be to pick up spellweaving, word of death will finish him off fast when he gets low on life. Other then that just keep spamming fireballs, or what ever and hope for the best.

I do barrys on my mage alot necro weaving mage. I get the skull over sampires every time. Throwers give me a run for my money but I run about 54 sdi on the suit and a repond book nets me 150+ sdi.

You might outdmg some lower end sampires, but I'm AI'ing for 189 every 1.25 seconds. Your flame strike casts slower and doesn't hit as hard.

But...

I WoD 675 8-12 times with a lvl 6 focus in the same time I cast a fs or ther abouts.

Not to forget to mention Wither > Whirlwind

+summons and animates

= better barrys

For a rat spawn a weaver or a necro will spawn the boss faster then a sampire. Almost any other spawn I would have to say sampire does it faster. And obviously the boss is faster with a sampire. My favorite spawn template is a necro tamer mage because you get the fast spawn progression from the withers and then a nice big tank for the boss at the end. But I really think overall the best spawner is a sampire.

In case nobody noticed, he didn't ask about a sampire, so please don't waste our time with that nonsense, particularly on the spellcaster forum. As for the WoD Vs sampire debate, my only issue is how you're pulling off 8-12 WoDs on a mob with 12k hit points (according to UO guide).

Anyways, for max spell damage on Barracoon use a Repond and wraith form and corpse skin and just spam flamestrikes. With spellweaving switch to a 4/6 non-slayer max sdi build and get in as many WoDs in as you can. I really doubt you will top that, but I eagerly await the lolmystics to start screaming about their colossus.

Also, if you're solo, blood oath + WoD is awesome and even blood oath + flamestrike is worthwhile in my opinion.

You need more SDI, necro bracers will help you with that and give you more skill points to spread around.

When I solo a rat yea 8 WoD is possible with a lvl 6 @558(no empowerment) is 4464 or around 1/3 of its hp 12 might be excessive.

If I empower @675 its 5400 so more like 6-7

If there is more players I still get the skull usually but a whammy thrower usually out does me on the boss with back to back 220-260 AIs
